Walk 2000 miles in 2017

Based on that info you definitely qualify as a serious athlete in my book. I've walked nearly a marathon distance in a day and to say I was kn@ckered would be an understatement. To run it in say 3 to 4 hours is for me, like going from a pub team to the premier league in one season.:p
I walked up a mountain in Portugal and back in just under 12 hours, that was a round trip of 22 miles and to say I was tired at the end would be a gross understatement
I am hoping to do 119 miles in 5 days sometime in the spring when I do the Fife Coastal Path, still at the planning stage but I think that I am fit enough to do it now and it seems that organising the overnight stops might be more difficult than the actual walking :eek:0 -
Week 4 quick update: just a shade under target this week, 37.1 miles, so a total of 165 walked against a target of 154. Next week might be a bit under as well, I have a major work thing so a lot less control over my time though will do my best but not gonna stress it! Might do a January update if I get a chance, given it's a long month my target is 170 miles so fingers crossed I should do it!0

Totals for 2017.
314,568 steps 636 floors 251.88 km 84,068 calories0 -
Year to date I am now up to 433,837 steps 1426 floors 189 miles and 76,778 calories burned. Quite happy with that considering that's two days of not wearing my tracker, I do want to hit the 200 mile mark before Feb which should be more than doable with a few days left to go.0

Reporting in at the end of the 4th week 29 Jan 2017:
As of midnight last night, I have walked 423.40 km (263.36 miles) putting me 165.93 km (103.11 miles) ahead of schedule. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
Hi
I am joining your thread as the 1000 miles one is very quiet - just me mostly. I hope to actually do about 1500 miles but it will depend on what form holidays take and when I manage to start running again after injury.
I started on the 4th, after getting the nod from the physio, and at the end of calendar wk 4 (28/1) I have completed 87.7 miles against a target of 76.7 miles. I have averaged 10,000 steps a day but need to increase the weekday counts which are more like 8k - 9k. At least the ice seems to have gone for now.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans
