Oh my goodness, that is the hardest interview I've ever done in my life, 1 hour 30 minutes, I had to have an emergency skinny latte afterwards, and an emergency mini bottle of cava (xmas pressie) now I'm eying up the emergency yaga at the back of the cereal cupboard.
It'll be a couple of weeks before I hear anything, so I shall just try and forget it and get on with my job.
Apart from £1.75 for my emergency latte, no other spends today.
Looks like the mortgage will go ahead, I'm through all the approval hoops, fingers crossed, the surveyor has been trying to get in touch, so I'll ring them tomorrow and get a date for valuation.
Made a dentist appointment, DSs front teeth are looking a bit wonky, so it'll be good to see if he's entitled to any braces before he's 18, appointment not until April though.
Not much else to report, to drained, now where is that yaga...

Hi Skinny, just wanted to say I've subscribed and am all caught up with your earlier posts and am happily awaiting the updates on your new thread. I’ve made the brave decision (with the blessing of my hubbie and children) to leave my job in banking after 25 1/2 years. I’ve signed up to volunteer to assist a department at my local council helping families with children who have learning difficulties. I just want to make a positive difference in someones lives rather than deal with the daily look of disappointment on people’s faces when I tell them the interest rate on their savings account will be 0.5% for the next 12 months. Yes all of us with mortgages are happy with low rates and cheaper payments but how often do we go into our banks and say 'thank you for my low payment' Never. But we do regularly go into our banks to be faced with overdraft charges and disappointing interest on our savings. So, I'm looking forward to feeling appreciated even if its 'unpaid' volunteering. You never know, it may lead to a paid position in the future and will give me a chance to re-evaluate what I want to be 'when I grow up' (I’m 46 now lol) On the subject of making your £10 a day. Have you given any thought to 'wombling' ????

Wow decaff, that's a very admirable decision, I'm certain it's a good one for you. I often think I need to do something that involves 'giving back', I think it's important for the soul.

Are you ready for my good news........DS passed his theory :j:j so we're now on to booking the actual test :T

£18.06 requested from topc@shb@ck, and a whole £8 earned from roamler today from checking the banana display in tesc0 and a couple of other jobs!

Money out was the weeeks grocery spend of £46:eek:. £14 on an assortment of new light bulbs which all seem to have blown, when did they get so expensive?? Plus £7 on some rather nice wall art for my living room - FB purchase.

Surveyor came round today to value the house, all seems ok, although he did point out that my conservatory was moving away fron the house, which I knew about - and don't need reminding!!

A mooch round the charity shop didn't throw up any treasures. DD hasn't been since since thursday and DS has just returned from a party before 10am. I still can't work out how they grew up so different!

I'm going to sleep for a very long time now, good night all xx

PS and and I dropped below the £133,000 mark - just :T

  • Popping by to say hi and that I am enjoying your diary.

Hope you hear soon about the job, hopefully it is a good sign that it was such a long interview. When I've been interviewing people for roles before if they haven't been suitable I've wound the interview up pretty quickly.

Well done for DS passing his test too, DD has hers in a few weeks so keeping fingers crossed.
  • Well done to DS for passing his test!

And well done you for getting below 133k - just under still counts! :)

    Thank you Hiddenshadow

This evening I'm pooped. Found my cycling mojo, and biked 33 miles today, probably a bit far for my first one back, but I was with a group so sort of had to keep going.

I then came home and made soup, pulled pork and bread :A

Also managed to get a couple of fleabay listings on

Spends today were £62 on DSs practical driving test, £20 on some sports nutrition powders, ran out today, plus I found £20 in my bike bag I didn't realise was there :)

Off for an early night now, listening to the wind and rain all snuggled in bed. Hope you had a good weekend xx

Well done with cycling, 33 miles fabulous,...:T
Hmm might just have a rummage through the shed and dig out my old bike from years gone by.
Wont get anywere near 33 miles but a good way to clear the cobwebs, healthy mind and all that, also might lose a few pounds in the process :) x

    • DS got a test cancellation and his driving test is Thursday
    • DD finally started her new job
    • I got an email at work confirming our 2015 bonus, it will be paid 26th April, and we have until Friday to submit our form to have it paid into our pensions, oh crikey I don't know what to do, shall I sign it away in to the big black hole?
    • My t0pcashback account topped £1000 yay :T
    • I had a NSD
I'm tired out now with all that zzz
