We've changed the name of this board from 'Greenfingered MoneySaving' to simply 'Gardening'. This is to help make it easier to find for the horticulturally inclined. The URL remains unchanged for the time being, so all links to the board are unaffected.

You see "Be Prepared" continued to hold you in good stead :D
Tomatoes - Ours were (not bothered this year) always late.
We'd usually have a mad harvest in September (just as the rest of the salad stuff was finishing) which led to hours on the tomato machine making puree etc. &, on a bad year, monumental amounts of green tomato chutney :rotfl:0 -

Just checked & the last time rozee was on the site was 14th.
It could be that she's just busy or got internet probs but it would be nice to know they're all OK.0 -
hopefully it will not be long before she is back here...
Anyway while having my cuppa and biscwit:D I opened this months smallholder's mag ( get it delivered)
there was a full page ad for this
http://www.warrensmallholders.co.uk/index.html
which i thought might be of interest to any of the 'lurkers' that follow the thread:D
This looks like a good idea, and there must be a loophole somewhere to be allowed to have a 'mobile shed' kitted out for farm workers;)
Basically it they look like 'posh' large allotments that you own.
The only thing with these, would they hold their price, if you wanted to sell up in a few years?
The price does seem a bit steep, but a good idea thoughWork to live= not live to work0 -
I have been really worried aboput rozee. No one bookmarked details of where she lived? Anyone get her a dress for a new home card? I wish i had......i would love to drop her a line to let her know we are all thinking of her.
It does raise the contact outside of mse again.
Some mse friends and i (only one of whom i have met before) are meeting later in the month. Its so much harder to get away to meet in rl with non portable but fox delectable critters.
Still no lawn mower.0 -

Maybe it's my none too trusting nature but I'd be wading through all the online Planning Applications just to be sure.0 -

Look horridly like a version of land banking. I would want to speak to the local planning folk and have in writing that they are happy with the scheme. The person who has not made a mistake, has made nothing0 -
I've found some 'interesting' history.
Search for W..... Fruit Farm on the page this link brings up. There are 4 separate entries on the page.
Of course, it could all be legit. now but I'd still be very wary.0
