Switching balances between two credit cards

Options
Hi

I know I should ask the credit companies this, but wary of doing so when they have my details, and would welcome the advice of the sages on this site.

I have two credit cards, each with an outstanding balance, and each with some headroom on the credit limit. Both are currently attracting interest, but both are offering 0% on balance transfers. Thus my question is this: can I transfer the balance from Card A to Card B to get 0% on Balance A, and then switch the original balance on Card B to Card A to get 0% on the original Balance B. Hope that makes sense.

If this isn't a goer, my next tactic was to transfer the larger balance to gain maximum benefit of 0% but ask if they'll offer a reduced interest rate on the original balance to help pay it all off.

Grateful for any advice.

Regards

R

Using the 0% BTs is a good idea.
It's very unlikely they would reduce your APR if you rang up and asked. They may interpret your request "to help you reduce the balance" as meaning you are in financial trouble.
