What small DFW things will you do this week? w/c 28/11

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning everyone,
Nearly posted on last weeks there.
Hope you all had a nice weekend. My plan for the day is as follows;
- Check banks and YNAB
- NSD
- Collect new phone!
- Exercise
- Drink plenty water
- Early night
- Read some of my book or catch up on TV
The fact I need an early night has meant my list is short and sweet.
Have a nice day today and a great week everyone.0 -
Morning folks!
Been fairly productive this morning - we left our phones downstairs last night to see if it would help OH to sleep better (he did seem to wake up refreshed this morning) and the plus side was there was no temptation to read Facebook in bed when I woke up!
Today's plan:- B/D from stores. Will have to buy a cheap lunch as grocery situation confusing atm
- Take ebay parcels to the post office - done. Think I lost money on these!
- Charge phone in work - done
- Nab an envelope to send those train tickets back! - done
- Crochet
- No drinkies
- Epilated legs and underarms - saves a fortune on razor blades/wax/cream/salon appointments etc - done
Have a good one all

Afternoon all
Thanks for the start Ziggy
Today I have / will:
Load of washing, now out on line
Used up half an apple that GD started yesterday for my breakfast - not as gross as it sounds, as I cut the apple in half, and peeled and cored her half. The other bit was left in the fridge
Dog walk
Post office - tried out my new Drop and Go account, sailed past the queues and left my parcels at the counter, then worried a bit because nobody was there to take them, and I was a bit concerned they might be stolen  But by the time I had got home and checked my account online, all looked in order
Sales unit - changed my stock, and did a tidy up / quick dust around for a pal who is out of action after a knee operation
Sainsburys for a few bits - helped myself to some of the wine boxes they put out for customers to take, for my ebay parcels
Sold 2 more ebay items so far. One buyer hoped it could be posted today - it can't because they hadn't paid by the time I left for the post office. I can only manage the post office once a day, so it will have to be tomorrow morning! No more sales so far, just some offers on things that have been recently listed and have watchers. I declined these!
Still to do:
Another load of washing Done, will peg outside tomorrow morning if dry
Wash kitchen floor Not done, ran out of steam
List more stuff on ebay Done
Walk mutt again Done
Something simple for dinner as OH is going out. Jacket spuds, cheese and beans sounds good! Ended up with jacket potatoes, cheese and salad. OH didn't want beans, so I put the tin back in the larder for another time
Folded up the dry washing and put in the airing cupboard. Put away the shopping, the stuff I pulled out of my sales unit and the bits I put on ebay this afternoon. It seems a constant battle to stop the house looking like a jumble sale

Hi all
Cant beat a jacket spud with cheese and beans Dawn. We are having a chicken pasta bake - small amount of chicken, lots of veg and lots of pasta.
Been feeling really down over the weekend so making a big effort to fight it. I did 20 minutes on the spinning bike before work and a brisk dog walk when I got home from job no. 1 (all free). More paid stuff next.
Oh and one of the joys of living 50 miles from a big supermarket is that if you can't get things in Lidl it costs a fortune. I wanted mixed herbs, suet and chorizo. Cant believe what I spent.
Right - more paid stuff.0 -
Hi everyone
Thanks for the kick off Ziggy! :A
I was well annoyed this morning - too much worrying about OH getting ready for his new job that I forgot to take my breakfast and lunch with me! :rotfl:
Didn't bother with brekkie in the end (not that I had much choice!) - had a couple of percy pigs and coffee and walnut cake instead plus a good few free teas
Got my new discount card through (work scheme) and it's 7.5% off at wilko and M&S (and a few other places I don't really go to) so happy about that. Good budgeting too as it auto-tops up £30 a month and obvs only costs me £27.75. :T Also got my lunch with it so my £1 sandwich only cost me 92p. :T
In not so small things...OH and I have realised that life is getting too difficult to coordinate with just 1 car. Sad times. Need to have a serious think about this. Maybe we'll go a month of OH getting taxis to/from work (when we think a new car is needed) and see how much it will actually cost. Probably still a helluva lot cheaper than a new car.
Right...off to come up with a weird and wonderful meal. #useuptea0 -
Hi everyone
Brrr - it is getting cold today. Hope everyone is doing ok. I'm exhausted and quite tired - trying to make my way to the Christmas hols - the kids are up the walls at school and behaviour is a daily struggle.
Yorkshire - so sorry to hear that you're not doing so well. Good on you for keeping going.
I've had a busy day -
checked banking and PAD
nsd
marked a set of books
minimal heating
full teaching day
lots of data entry...
after school catch up class
picked up ds repaired phone
I'm desperate for a good night's sleep. We're struggling with ds at the moment - he won't sleep on his own for some reason, which means that either me or dh are on the sofa most evenings. My turn on the sofa from 3am last night...Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Yorkshire have you ever tried one of those SAD lamps?
La E is cycling an option?
Dinner tonight is home made baked beans and chorizo on lovely bread. Topped no doubt with a liberal handful of grated cheese. All leftovers from my pop-up at the weekend.
