    Hi all,

Thanks for the lovely messages. I've missed you all.

Just a quick update. I got a phone call whilst at work in the middle of last week from my DH stating that mum had taken a sudden turn for the worse, and I needed to get there asap as the doctor had had 'the talk' with DH and my dad. Cue race home to find that she had come round somewhat with supported breathing, but was still seriously ill. Two days of confusion, distress, high temperature and fighting infection / pneumonia and she began to improve a little. Mum now seems better in herself, and ate a little yesterday, but things are still very uncertain. I've been at the hospital 10-12 hours each day and am going again shortly (they don't let you in until 11am!)

I'm hoping that if we can speak to the doctors today, I'll feel safe enough to leave her and go back to work tomorrow. I'll never forget that long drive home when I wasn't sure if she'd still be with us when I got back. Very scary and upsetting. I need to be sure that things are more settled or I won't be able to concentrate to do anything anyway.

Money saving has been shockingly bad. I know I should be making food / flasks to take to the hospital, but instead we've been buying sandwiches and endless coffee. Also had 3 takeaways, but one was for my wedding anniversary (the day we were told mum might not make it was the actual day :( )

Looking forward to catching up with everyone's diaries when I get chance. I've just been coming home and falling asleep, and then waking up about an hour later, but not being able to face being online.

Hope everyone is well and doing good x

  • <3 still in my thoughts each day! glad to hear it is more positive news for mum at the minute. Don't wear yourself too thin, and do not beat yourself up over the spending. I would be doing the exact same thing in your position. Worry about mum first, you second, and money comes a distant last.

Huge hugs! Even the dodgy kind :grouphug: xx
