I totally agree with the majority of opinions expressed in the other thread.
Can't put it better than redfox who said "I see that MSE are already suggesting a way to keep abusing the spirit of the offer"
How long before MSE ruin this for genuine Waitrose custmers?0 -

Strange how sarah1972 answered to Red :rotfl:0 -
How ludicrous to suggest someone by ONE grape!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on MSE you are better than that.0 -
How long before MSE ruin this for genuine Waitrose custmers?
I suspect not long
This is also encouraging waste because if every 'non shopper'/nearby office worker/passing opportunist/local police constable etc etc buys a plastic bag every day just so they get their coffee for 10p they aren't going to want 7 bags for life every week so they'll end up in landfill.
Exactly what the carrier bag charge was implemented to avoid but now MSE are suggesting doing just that.0 -
I think before long it will be a minimum spend just like the newspaper.
They will probably trial it out to see if it affects profits like they did before, no doubt ours will be one of those!0 -

I think it should be like that and I'm surprised they have gone for this approach when they could so easily have made the change right now.0 -

I do hope so! Honestly, our Waitrose is getting to be like a foodbank at armageddon. People practically scrapping in their eagerness to get a free drink!
People won't be able to get away with buying a carrier bag though - this from their email to myWaitrose members this morning:
*Excluded Items: single use carrier bags, tobacco, stamps, mobile top ups, e-Top up vouchers, lottery tickets, gift vouchers, cashback, infant milk formulae, car park charges, fuel and delivery charges.0
