Pickle has upgraded the wrong side of the door game.

She squeezed through a tiny tiny gap in a window whilst not jingling her bell. Meaning OH had torch out looking for her all over the bedroom. Lol
She strolled in 20 min's ago with her very best 'what' expression on lol

Stripeys gums are definitely less inflamed
    His teeth are whiter
    His breath smells better
We had a love this morning involving biting my arm.

This is a picture of a cat dying of starvation.
If you look at the pics of stripey you will see he's the same size.

I believe that rather than felv he was dying of starvation, he is putting some weight on and he looks better, coat feels better

I really, really hope your belief comes true.

It would be such a lovely ending for the boy.

    So do I pollycat
    He's a very chatty boy.
And just a couple of weeks of food and a warm place to sleep have made a difference.

He's far from in all the time but he's eating whenever he comes in and then sleeping.

He just feels a lot better, his coats softer.

    Hi Mellymoo, all.

You know what else bad gums and teeth are a symptom of? Scurvy, which is a form of malnutrition, after all. I know tiggers do not need to eat citrus fruit  but thought this supports the theory that good food and a stable home might be enough to save him.

Mellymoo, if I might ask, did the vet give you any idea of how old (s)he thinks Stripey might be? It just occurred to me he might need kitten food or senior cat food rather than the regular one, or even that special "build-up" stuff you get from the vet's, did they suggest this? I know it costs a bomb. It does sound as though Stripey is doing very well on what you are giving him so may well be unnecessary.

I am sure you have already thought of this and hope you do not mind my mentioning it. I have a horrible suspicion the vet might think it not worth it until you get the second test's results. Crossing everything.

They couldn't tell because of his teeth older than 12 months was it.

He's getting kitten food as it's higher in calories, lots and lots of catnip and today mince which he loves.

I think the vet is erring on the side of caution
Genuinely think he's clear of disease though. He was dying of starvation

He's still way to thin but is a lot better than he was.

Kitten food sounds like an excellent idea, Mellymoo. I knew you would be all over this. Thank you.
