PPI Reclaiming Discussion Part 5

Hi, I'm into the 4th week of a claim with HFC bank a loan taken out in 1995 which included front loaded ppi. They requested evidence of payments and I have provided a year's worth of bank statements from 1998-1999 showing the regular payment each month. I also have statements from 1990-1994 but annoyingly cannot find statements from 1994-1997 - will a SAR to my bank (barclays) help produce these missing statements - in branch they could only print out the last 6 years. I'm just trying to pre-empt HFC asking for evidence of every payment not just the last 12. Thanks
It is unlikely they will have the statements you need due to the year, try with the statements you have and see what they come back with.
They will maybe need the last statements as this shows you paid the insurance to term.0 -
Hi all, I would appreciate any advice you can offer folks.
I have put in a PPI claim on a mortgage I have with Halifax. I have received a letter from them today and wanted to know what it really means and if anyone else has received this.
They have put:
I can confirm that the dedicated team who investigate mis-selling issues have confirmed that a Review Manager who specialises in allegations regarding the alleged mis-sale of insurance will contact you shortly and in any case within the next 8 weeks.
As your case is currently being investigated by our Regulated Insurance Advice Teamany correspondence should be addressed to them.
That's the gist of the letter anybody on here know what that means in plain old Queens english?
Thanks for any advice you can give. Rich
It means it is being looked at0 -

hello this is my first post!here goes...after reading posts on here i contacted nat west helpline (rbs)i spoke to a girl gave her details of loan account no's i had had,she asked why i thought i had been mis-sold?i explained myloan payments would of being covered by my wages as our sickness policy is i am paid, full pay for 6 months followed by half pay for another 6 months,so would never of needed to claim, and that i was also advised at the time that they would look my favourable on application if this was added,
today 5 days later recd a letter from RBS Stating they are unable to proceed unless i could provide a specific reason as to why i thought i had been mis-sold?!i have recalled again today and had to go through everything again!and i have given again the same reasons as above, can anyone advise if i have done something incorrect?as feel i will be getting the same reply in another 5 days, wonder if i have worded it incorrectly ?and would be better placed to use a claims company
thanks-confused0 -
Hi,
I really don't know if I definitely took out insurance on an MBNA credit card circa 1997. I don't have any documents relating to my account any longer. I have looked at the standard document that MBNA want filled out and they need info which I just no longer have. I have been sent texts by a PPI company stating that they "think I might be" entitled to £3500 compensation, (fishing?) Now if they have the info to their fingertips but want 30% on a no win no fee basis all well and good. I would prefer to do it myself but unfortunately don't have the information to hand.
Help anyone please?
Many thanks in advance.0 -
The poster has not made a claim yet, they asked for info on the loan
depends on how you read the post....
" I have contacted Barclays regarding mis sold PPI sending copies of the agreements, they turned me down stating they are unable to locate my customer records"
it can be interpreted as they've asked for them, or they have sent them.
and they don't say it's a loan.....:DShampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...0 -
Hi All,
we need a bit of advice on what we should do regarding our situation:
My wife had taken out decreasing life assurance with Zurich in 2004 through an IFA.
At the time, we remember quite vividly saying the we did not want PPI . The IFA stated that if we didn't take out the policy with the PPI cover we would be charged in excess of £1000 for his advice.
Now on reading the advice on this website, we have decided that this could have been a case of mis-selling however, we note that all the PPI claims tend to be for loans etc and not life cover.
our questions are:
Should my wife still be able to claim?
we have lost contact with the IFA (in fact I think he was taken to the small claims court a number of times) so can we claim through Zurich directly?
many thanks in advance
PS we've called for a payment breakdown and they haven't provided it yet
we also haven't cancelled the PPI yet, should we do that before claiming (if the claim is possible) or do both at the same time.0 -

If you don't have the information what makes you think the claims company will? They have no info at all and are reliant on you giving them all the information....
If you don't have the info, and you can't get it form the bank, I'm afraid you'll have to resign yourself to not complaining.Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...0 -

Unable to proceed with your complaint, or unable to uphold your claim? Is is a full and final decision or is it a letter asking for more information?
A claims company won't do anything more than you've already done...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...0
