Mile High Club

My VW has just clocked 236,000 miles.
Can anyone beat that?! :rotfl:
I plan to drive it to 250,00 / next June and then retire her.
I bore far too quickly of cars to rack up those miles (to the detriment of my pocket) so well done for having the commitment to do it
Our two cars have 9,000 (bought at 0 miles) and 21,000 (bought at 16,000 miles) respectively.0 -
Why retire it? Why not just drive on at it until you hit a big bill? Cant depreciate much more now, surely?0

Oh, and i think the Mile High Club is somewhat different from the High Mile club....0

Haha. Only 100k of those were done by me as the owner. But still!
I must admit the temptation is tbere to see how far I can push it. But every year it gets older and sooner or later it will be the oldest car in the work car park haha. Kinda badge of honour how good the MK4 engines are....but not the coolest car anymore0 -
At 236k you're only 2.9k off reaching lunar orbit. Getting back again would be a real achievement.....0

My Accord had done about 180k, 150k by me.0

I don't think lunar orbit is the right term, with my pedant hat on.0 -
My Peugeot 405 was on 245k when it went to scrappage heaven in 2009. Would probably have lasted a fair while longer.0
