Avoiding cancellation fees?

Our landlord recently decided to sell the house we're in, so we're all about to move separate ways. We're 4 months into a 12 month BT broadband contract, so the cancellation fees on that are likely to be huge.
I've seen some anger in the forums where people have taken out a new BT service and as a result, their contract has been "reset" to 12 months, which got me thinking:

- Does this imply that adding a service (e.g. TV) results in a new contract, replacing the previous one?
- If so, is that new contract required to have the CCR cooling-off period at the start where one can cancel without being charged for anything beyond what they've used (assuming we return equipment e.g. wireless router)?
- Does anyone have a success story already for avoiding the mid-contract cancellation fees?

YES usually .But could be just a TV contract and not a new BB contract .

I believe the answer is its classed as an upgrade and no cooling off exists .0 -
It isclassed as an upgrade/amendment - these are not CCR obligations so no cooling off period is mandated.0
