you put the amount that she will receive in carers allowance0

would the £2500 disregard negate most of her previous earnings? Looks so simple, but it is totally confusing me!! lol0

I'd you could just give us the figures it would make it easier to explain to you.0

You're still saying zero yet about three times you've been asked for hers carers income...0 -
i haven't claimed for it yet,but if she did it would be approx £3260 per year i believe0
-
We know you aren't claiming it yet but if you want to calculate how much you at based on claiming carers then you need to include it in the calculation.
If she claims carers allowance then the household income change by more than £2,500 so tax credits would remain based on last year's income. Tax credits would be approx £117 per week.
If she didn't claim carers allowance tax credits would be approx £133 per week.
So based on that she is better off claiming carers allowance.0 -
can anyone explain why carers allowance stops when state pension starts, people do not stop caring0

Carer's allowance and State Retirement Pension are, what are called overlapping benefits and cannot be paid together.
Both are earnings replacement benefits and you cannot claim two of these.
However, if the person is eligible for any means tested benefits, (for example, pension credit) then a carer's premium (about £30 ish a week) can be added on to that benefit.
