in Cutting tax
I hope someone could offer some advice.
I've been training as a doctor and one of my three month placements paid me as normal i.e. a salary paid into my bank account. A year later I get a tax demand from HMRC, apparently my employer didn't pay any of the tax i.e. PAYE.
I was unaware of this problem, and from the research I've done I many not be liable for the tax, they should go back to my employer, but i'm currently paying the tax in instalments.
Has anyone any advice of liability in this situation.
Thanks in advance
Mike

Did you receive any payslips while you were there? If you were on the payroll you would have had payslips and a P45 when you left (and a P60 if the job spanned two tax years).0

Yes, there were payslips, but often they went missing due to the short time periods of working. i.e. four three month placements in different hospital trusts over the year.0

What does your employer have to say about your employment status and the lack of PAYE deductions?0

If there were tax errors were there also NI/pension errors?0
