Just finished Mo Hayder, Hanging Hill. Really enjoyed it and got a real shock at the end.

Got another Mo Hayder to read, but got the following for Christmas, so might start one of them next.

Phlippa Gregory - The Lady of the Rivers
Celia Aherne - The Time of My Life
Stephen Pile - Ultimate Book of Heroic Failures
Paul Scott - Robbie & Gary, It's Complicated

    Plus I have the 30 books I ordered from W H Smiths.

I just read 'Brung Up Proper' by Jason Manford.

It was very funny and also surprisingly moving in places. I don't live a million miles away from where he is from, so it was funny hearing about things in his life happening in location that also feature in mine.

I've had a busy weekend reading and I'm already halfway through my next book...:D

  • Ha ha, good destashing charliesmum ;) I feel really jealous now though. Just finished a book and got that book buying feeling.

I agree on the reading textbooks theme ^^^ I get serious geek excitement about a good old academic tome. I'm always looking for a subject to explore through reading. Any suggestions pickle and wouldbeaquality...?

Just finished Fasting, Feasting by Anita Desai, which was great. Such a strange set up though, I felt like part 2 was a completely separate novella tacked on to the end - very different in setting and style. Highly recommended though.

I think next job is joining goodreads after seeing everyone talking about it.

I just finished 'No More Clutter' by Sue Kay.

It was brilliant! As someone who has too much of everything and has been making good(-ish) headway decluttering, this just reinforced the need and want to declutter, and I got my Big Box of Important Stuff, which has been bulging at the seams, and had a good old shread through it (you would not BELIEVE how much shreading there is in one small file of stuff!!!!).

There's no way that's the end. My whole room is getting the 'No More Clutter' treatment.

    Brilliant!

My problem is that I keep buying books on how to declutter, which themselves add to the clutter...

    Hi everyone,
found myself stood in the charity shop earlier with 3 books in my hand but remembered this thread and promptly put them back, it felt pretty good knowing I hadn't given in. Went in the attic when i got home and found a box of books i'd totally forgotten about so good thing I didn't add to my 'collection'
Got a doctor's appt tomorrow and she's never on time so i'm taking a book, hopefully be updating my signature very soon.
