Can anyone recommend a first time bank account for a 13 year old boy? My bank Nat West do something called the Pigsy Club but that sounds rather babyish!

It is only a name and for ease of opening I would do it in the same as my main bank.0

Halifax will give a cashcard and Santander will give the choice of a cashcard or VISA debit card if ease of access is an important issue.0

Nationwide flexone is a current account for 11-17 year olds, choice of cash card or debit card, pays interest at 1% and has a linked savings account that pays 3.50% (save up to £100 per month)0

+1 vote for Nationwide FlexOne - pretty much full banking facilities.
The NatWest account that comes with Pigby is a First Saver, which is basically just a savings account - no card, no passbook, statements every 3 months.0 -

They also offer a current account from age 11 with debit cardRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
