Under the new call charge system that came into effect on 1 July 2015, there are 80 price bands for the Service Charge element of the call cost for calls to 084, 087, 09 and 118 numbers. Those above 13p per minute or per call can be used only for calls to 09 and 118 numbers.

The top three bands http://www.icc-uk.com/NGCS-Price-Points.php are:

- £5.50 per call plus £2.75 per minute (after the first 60 seconds)
- £5.74 per call plus £2.99 per minute (after the first 60 seconds)
- £6.98 per call plus £3.49 per minute (after the first 60 seconds)

Zen lists these three price bands https://www.zen.co.uk/home-office/voice/phone-services.aspx?page=12144 as

- £5.50 per call plus £2.75 per minute (from the start of the call)
- £5.74 per call plus £2.99 per minute (from the start of the call)
- £6.98 per call plus £3.49 per minute (from the start of the call)

This means that calls to these numbers are potentially being overcharged by

- £2.75
- £2.99
- £3.49

for the first minute of the call.

If you're a Zen customer, check your phone bill.

Also take the hint to find a cheaper DQ service. These call costs are outrageous even with the error corrected.
