    Remember you're STILL a Womble - 2017 challenge 24th Dec 16 at 3:49 PM
    Dear All

Finally have time to update what this challenge is about. Firstly what is wombling?

Wombling is at its most basic level finding things. That you can use and someone else decided they couldn't. When I started this challenge in January of 2015, I used to Womble a lot of brand match coupons, these were just like finding money and I have no idea why people ever threw them away.
My initial idea was to try and find one thing each time I left the house that would make my life cheaper in some way. Roadkill (change found on the road, bus, self service till draw) is a great one for that. I find that I can usually find at least 1p per journey and although some people would say what's the point? Because I trained myself to look for coins as second nature I have found a lot of money over the years 84.20 in 2015, & 62.28 last year.
I often find useful big items left in the street outside people's houses with notes saying 'take me away' last year I even found a Hoover. I needed a new one so took it. This saves me quite a lot of money. My own wombling style is finder, but a lot of people Womble a lot of money by doing BOGOFFs. Or eBay buying.

YS shopping is worth a mention. If you are able to buy food with a huge mark down then that's a Womble.

Basically if you are able to make a saving in any way, including comping then that's a Womble. I don't have any strict rules for this challenge and quite often we just chat! So come on in and join the free fun.

    Hi all
    Some good wombling today
11.50 saved by purchasing vouchers through a work site for Morrisons and costa
Saved 2.96 in Boots as the moisturiser and cream I bought have 25% off. I got 1 worth of wombled loyalty points uploaded to my card, however she did say that you have to ask the cashier for a special code to be able to upload retrospective points! She did this as a one off. So might not have much luck with future wombled boots receipts. Won't count loyalty points until I spend.
    1p roadkill :-)
Co-op Salmon linguine meal YS 3.99 reduced to 99p
Ordered Clarks shoes from Charles Clinkard bagging 9% cashback - about 4 - will count when I cash out.
    I'll add 17.47 to my total :-)

Had to come back and edit again as I forgot that my laptop finally gave up after having it for so long - and I mean a long time. I manged to get a brand new laptop at a third of the price thanks to finding a whole load of online codes (now expired) - I saved 198, so going to add that to my womble amount

13.30 off my Amazon order through using vouchers.

0.89 free milk through using my co op card.

Now, I want to ask the wombles about something.

I had an email from Am@z0n this week to say that a book I had ordered at Christmas as a christmas present for my mum was going to be replaced as they had found out it had printing errors in it and they were going to replace it free of charge with no need to return the original.

I was quite happy about this as it was a book I wanted to read so I though I would swap with my mum and that would be it.

Instead I then got another email from Am@z0n a few days later to show my order details for the replacement, and they were replacing my whole Christmas shop, which was worth about 74 in total.

So now I have a second set of everything I bought as Christmas presents and I don't know if this is a mistake or some sort of Am@z0n policy, so should I

*Contact Am@z0n and check if this was supposed to happen

    or

*keep quiet, give away or sell the items and drink a celebratory cocktail for my good fortune?

Now I know what the correct answer is, but I would really like a cocktail.

I would be joining you for a cocktail after a short time of waiting to see if they had noticed.......

I have 2 rolls of wallpaper Graham and Br00wn sent me for no clearly apparent reason when I ordered some other wallpaper. Told them I had them and they were not what I ordered so they sent the ones I had ordered, and never asked for the two 'odd ones' back. I am trying to sell them.

But I am morally ambiguous at the best of times......

I am currently of the opinion that keeping the items to give away as presents is fine, but selling them is 'bad juju'

Luckily two of the items I really wanted for myself so I am profiting in a small way All the other items I can to a certain extent think of people who would like them.

I haven't added the value of the items to my wombling total just yet, but when/if I do that would be a nice boost to it.

Florence How interesting. Someone must have messed up though as can't see how they would ever have that as their policy. I think I'd be worried that they'd want the money back tbh....

Small Womble 30p Costa points receipt, I've got enough for free coffee now, will add when I spend.

Boots voucher found when tidying. Probably too old but I'll try getting it added when I'm next near Boots.
