Each week, in July, one lucky reader will win a treasure trove containing £25,000 in gold bars. That’s £100,000 that must be won. All you have to do each week is solve a series of simple clues or riddles, the answers to which will be linked to Britain’s majestic heritage. And best of all, you can do it all from the comfort of your armchair. See newspaper for full details and click here for terms and conditions.

So, will you be a £25,000 winner? Pick up a copy of the Daily Mail this month to play.

DAILY MAIL

Great British Treasure Hunt Terms and Conditions

How to Enter
To enter to win £25,000 in gold bars, solve all six clues printed in the Daily Mail (running Saturday to Friday (excluding The Mail on Sunday)). The answer to each of the six clues is the name of a town, city or place of interest in Great Britain. When you have cracked all six, unscramble the first letter of each of your answers to discover the six letter location where the treasure has been hidden. This will be the name of a town or city in Britain. Send your answer with your name and phone number by phone, by text or by email when competition lines open on Friday morning.
Conditions of Entry
1. Each weekly prize draw (each, a “Prize Draw” and together, the "Promotion") is only open to UK residents (excluding Northern Ireland and Isle of Man), and excludes employees and agents of (a) the Promoter or (b) any company connected with the production or distribution of this Promotion, as well as their relatives or members of their family or household.
2. Entrants must be aged 18 years or over at the time of entry. Proof of eligibility must be provided upon request. By entering the Promotion entrants are deemed to accept and be bound by these terms and conditions.
3. Entrants must send their answer (as to the location of the hidden treasure) and contact details via phone, text or email as instructed. They must also retain four copies of the newspaper within the week of the relevant Prize Draw. Failure to provide four copies of the newspaper will render the winner’s claim of a prize invalid.
4. The Promotion is free to enter via email, or costs £1 per text or £1 by a premium rate phone call.
5. You may enter by phone or text as many times as you wish, but only one free entry will be accepted via email.
6. The Promotion will run from Saturday, 1 July 2017 until Saturday, 29 July 2017 (the “Promotion Period”). Each week during the Promotion Period there is a Prize Draw which is open to enter on the following Fridays within the Promotional Period: July 7th, July 14th, July 21st and July 28th, between 6am and 10pm.
Winners
7. Each week, there will be one winner selected in a random draw by an independent judge from all eligible entries, held before noon on the proceeding Saturday (i.e. the day after that respective Prize Draw closes). The Promoter shall notify the winner that they have won the prize by phone call between 12pm and 2pm that day. The Promoter shall attempt to call the winner three times on the telephone number provided by the winner. Failure by the winner to receive the call and accept the prize will make their claim invalid and the Promoter will then select another winner at random from all remaining eligible entries. The first selected winner who answers the phone and is able to accept the prize that day will win the prize.
8. We will award one prize of £25,000 in gold bars to the winner of each Prize Draw. A cash alternative will be offered to the winner of each Prize Draw
9. The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable.
10. The name and county of the prize winner of a Prize Draw will be revealed in the Daily Mail on the Monday after the respective Prize Draw.
11. Entrants agree to provide reasonable cooperation to allow the Promoter to visit them at their home or at another location agreed between the Promoter and the Prize Draw winner on the Sunday after the Prize Draw winner has been notified that he/she has won the prize (i.e. the next day) and be photographed for advertising and publicity purposes in connection with this Promotion. This includes, but is not limited to, publication of the winner's name and photograph on the Promoter’s websites and newspapers.
General
12. The determination and decision of the Promoter on all matters shall be final and no promotional correspondence or discussion will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right in its reasonable discretion: (a) to disqualify any claimant, competitor or nominee whose conduct is contrary to the spirit of the rules or the intention of the promotion and to declare as void any or all of their claims or entries based on such conduct; (b) to declare as void any claims or entries resulting from any printing, production and/or distribution errors (including but not limited to any error(s) on any website of the Promoter, any game cards and/or other printed materials) or where there has been error(s) in any aspect of the preparation for or conduct of the promotion materially affecting the result of the promotion or the number of claimants or the value of claims; (c) to add to or to waive any rules on reasonable notice; and/or (d) to cancel the promotion or any part of it at any stage in the event of circumstances beyond the Promoter's reasonable control.
13. No entries will be accepted in bulk, from agents or third parties.
14. To the fullest extent permitted by law (and subject to paragraph 15 below), the Promoter hereby excludes all warranties, representations, covenants and liabilities (whether express or implied) relating to this Promotion and/or the prize.
15. Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude the Promoter's liability for: (i) death or personal injury as a result of its negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
16. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend or cancel the Promotion should virus, bugs, tampering, fraud or other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter corrupt or hinder the administration, security or proper play of the Promotion.
17. If any of the provisions of these terms and conditions are held to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part that part shall be severed from the remainder of the provisions and the validity of the other provisions and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected.
18. This Promotion and these terms and conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and other mandatory local laws. If you are resident in England you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the Promotion and these terms and conditions in the English courts; if you are resident in Wales, you can bring proceedings in respect of this Promotion and these terms and conditions in either the Welsh or English courts; if you are resident in Scotland you can bring legal proceedings in respect of this Promotion and these terms and conditions in either the Scottish or the English courts.

It's definitely YORK - Both roman and vikings found their way here, now it's a place by trainspotters held dear, through it's medievil streets many a tourist ambles - although the most famous is a self-proclaimed shambles. 4 letters.
    2018 - £562  2019 - £130 2020 - £276  2021 - £106 2022 - £140
