£13,000 sounds quite pricey to me tbh ;)

We leave in two days and I am quite excited. Went on Delta airlines website this morning and all the seats have been booked, we got ours ages ago, you never know the back ones may be available tomorrow!

What are peoples main tips for Vegas, we have booked one show for our last night (Beatles Love) but haven't booked anything else so we are up for any suggestions for anything. We have a car so are able to take advantage of things that are further away. Obviously we are not planning our itinerary before we go but would like an idea of what to consider. I will of course add some kind of trip report when we get back.

Thanks for all support, help and suggestions so far, I can't wait to land!

We've just booked the Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo for next April, and treated ourselved to a King Suite as it has a full kitchen (stove, dishwasher, microwave, etc). I was surprised that internet access wasn't thrown in however (its an extra $13 per day).
Has anyone got any tips for cheap internet access in Vegas? (either 3G on a phone or wifi)

    Try this.....

    http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en-GB&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=105863286002279699212.0004692e030c9f2196755&ll=36.118672,-115.165386&spn=0.033766,0.076818&z=14

.....for free wifi......theres loads more off strip (eg McCarren) as well.....try googling for them.

And theres the Starbucks deal when you get 24 hours wifi there when you buy a coffee.

    Hi folks

I noticed that all the seems seem to be on the buy 1 tickets get another for $25 & thought I'd take advantage of it for our trip in September.

We have already seen Ka & Love during our last Vegas visits and I just wanted to see what you'd recommend & why.

The 1 I think I may like to see it I Believe with Criss Angel but haven't really seen much about it.

    Cheers

It gets consistently horrible reviews...I really wanted to see it when it was first announced...have now decided that I can't justify it unless it's very cheap or free.

We really liked O (for us more than Ka, and either slightly less or slightly more than Love - still haven't decided) but opinions on Cirque shows vary dramatically.

that seems to be the norm - the sahara charges that as well.

for free wifi, it seems like there arent a lot. there are lots of wifi networks but all secure and chargeable. one free one i did find was down at town square beside the small park/childrens play area. its also near a cinema multiplex and the HUGE Frys electronics store, so it well worth a trip down on the deuce.

I'm actually somewhat surprised that at this sort of a property internet isn't thrown in...at hotels with casinos I get it since the more you're in the room online the less time you're spending in the casino. Perhaps because it's the norm elsewhere in Vegas HGVC figures they can charge the going rate.

We prefer to pay an have access for 24 hours from the room rather than scouting around for a free wifi spot...we like checking email, news, etc in our jammies while enjoying a morning coffee...but we usually don't order it every day.

    top tips :
    • have some very comfortable walking shoes
    • Beware walking between Hotels. Distances are very deceptive and the heat will be intense
    • make sure you have very high factor sun cream
    • have plenty $1 bills for tipping ect
    • Use the Valet when parking . only tip when you get the car back ( these guys pool tips) . when you arrive to check in , let the bellhops take your cases and issue you a ticket . when you get to your room simply call down and quote ticket number . tip $1-$2 per bag ( $5 max IMO )
    • Try $20 trick , but know what to ask for .
    • don't order a Starter @ Dinner unless you have a big appitite and know what to expect
    • check half price booths before buying any show tickets .
    • Join players club if you plan on doing any Gambling
    • Pick up all free Magazines
    • Don't make eye contact with sex card people . walk past them with hands in pockets. don't input card's web address into a computer , they have trojans on them
    • anyone offering free shows is most likely a timeshare seller . tell them you go home in a few hours .
    • tell taxi driver at Airport ," DO NOT take the Tunnel " . you cannot hail Taxis , you need to go to the stand @ casino ect and have them called for you .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:
