Self promotion on the forums isn't allowed. I think most bloggers have their blogs on their profile though, I know I do ;)

    Hi,
Blogging is a good way to earn money. I also do blogging as a part time and earn a lot of money.
    Thanks!!

Hi. So you join a UK forum to promote your USA web site. Doesn't look like a blog to me.

Hi all, very interesting reading, thank you. I'm about to be made redundant so looking at other options, I've always been interested in frugal living and will now have to follow that life style, so this is where my passion lies. Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
Who would like my last penny?
  • Hi, I have really enjoyed reading this thread on Blogging as I write a number of blogs but as yet have only had some freebies to try and then write about and I have tried affiliates and adsense but since moving platforms 2 years ago I haven't earned a penny since then.

I would be interested to hear anyone's tricks on how to get more people reading your blog. Of course I know regular interesting posts is essential but I feel at the moment that the blogging world is being drowned as there are so many out there. Anyone else think the same?

I'm still very new Barmc, though I have been trying to promote my blog on my own Facebook page and in a Facebook group that I use. That has generated some traffic. I'm getting rather distracted by Instagram at the moment, as I have started using that.....I'm starting to build a following and am wondering how to monetise that..does anyone have any ideas please?

I've been blogging intermittently for over three years now. I only blog for fun though and to share my experiences as a runner. While I've worked with quite a few brands, I don't see my blogging as a money making exercise.

Which Facebook group have you joined rachelja? I'm a member of the UK Bloggers group and there's loads of information on monetising your blog there.

  • I started a blog about two months ago on blogger, I don't earn any money from it, I just do it for fun. I don't get many views and I've never had a single comment, but I do enjoy it, I mostly just blog about my life and the things I'm interested in :)

I make a full time living via blogs. I have done for coming on 7 years now.

Blogging is very easy to get into but takes work to implement and make money from. This is where people generally fail.

I don't see blogging as something that has to be "personal" - in fact most of my sites do not have a persona. You can make a blog quite easily that just has informational articles and best buy type articles. You don't have to talk about your life etc - in fact I wouldn't bother if money is your goal.

I started a new site actually last year in health and fitness. I have worked really hard on it and January is the 7th month it has been live. It is on to make over £1000 this month. It has doubled in income every month. I consider that really good going. My other sites took a lot longer to reach that benchmark but I guess I also learnt a lot from the other sites that meant I didn't make the same mistakes with this one. So far it has been relatively easy to reach this point - just lots of hours writing. I look forward to seeing where it goes by the year mark.

If I could offer any advice it would be to be persistent and actually put in work. You may not see results for months or after hours and hours of working on it...but eventually you will. That's the difference between someone who makes money and someone who doesn't.

It isn't just about writing on your own site either. Yes you can get away with just adding content to your site but for a better all round approach you need to guest post on others sites, mingle and socialise by commenting on other blogs (this will probably help you get the guest posts - which are a small part of link building to your site) to name a few things.
