Mortgage Balance as of Jan 24 £36,500 Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000. 2024 Overpayment Challenge: Jan £558.40, Feb £588.11, Mar £497.32
  • I have just spent a happy half an hour looking at the figures, and we need less than I thought to get into five figures by the New Year.

It isn't £16k, it is in fact £14,104.44. Eminently more doable in 4 month then :rotfl:

I have got a separate, empty, savings account that is linked to my current account. To get us off the starting blocks I have just transferred £4.44 into that account, and amended my signature to show progress. £14k in 4 months is a tall order but we will give it our best shot!

That made me :D, thank you for that!

    Morning All,

Working today which means there will be some money to shuffle into the pot later. I have just paid for DD swimming lessons, but apart from those it will be a NSD. Very wet and grey here, autumn seems to have arrived.

No other real money news to report x

  • Autumnal here too. I've got a day of working away from the office so buses and trains to contend with....and a need to stay away from coffee shops at every stop!! Have a good one. Think of the ££££!!
  • What a great start to the New Year having a balance of £99*** will be! That's a high level of motivation!!

Love the challenge ... sometimes they are doable :) Go for it!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Money shuffled and signature updated. Dinner out tonight with a friend but it's their treat :T so that will be nice. Working all day tomorrow though so must refrain from any wine :o
