Hi,
I signed a liability order for ctax to prevent. Ailing action thinking I was doing the right thing. But I have to go bankrupt later this year. Have I just prevented the ctax arrears for 16/17 being included in my bankruptcy? Feeling sick with worry.
Thanks

Hi,
The current years council tax (16/17) becomes a provable debt in bankruptcy the day the bill is issued no matter what steps you have taken with this debt.
The debt is part of your bankruptcy.

Thanks, I read the section on 'when creditors can still chase you' on this CAB page. It says they will still be able to send bailiffs. Though to complicate things, I'm applying for sequestration in Scotland and the English ctax is one of my unpaid debts.
Terrified I'll end up with debt post bankruptcy. The0
