Call me a cynic, but how come the people slagging off this company are newbie posters? Almost as if it is the same person posting under different screen names. Until this thread I had never heard of the company and if getting insurance would only ever go with a major name with a solid history of good service.

So would I, I cant imagine getting insurance with anyone I hadn't heard of, its the same when looking for loans, go for the major lenders/the known lenders and not the lesser known.

Unfortunately the majority of people just look at the cheapest price on a comparison site.

Thus some Insurers target being the cheapest price by stripping out cover, increasing excesses, reducing staff etc etc to make their product appear in the top three quotes.
  • a month ago I did a contract of insurance for my car with wisedriving, it is a smart fortwo, the quote I were required 883.59. I am thinking it was good I make a deposit of 193.29 and monthly installments of 79.50. I also presented a No Claim Italian and that first they said it was fine. After one month the problems begin, tell me that the No Claim is not accepted but that accept the uk. I am told that the insurance increases and becomes twice. I ask the cancellation and first I ask 120 pounds then magically become 370 pounds if I want to cancel and they would immediately taken from my bank account. I at this point am I went to the bank blocked the direct debit and soon after I sent an email stating that I had canceled the contract and blocked the direct debit to the bank. I checked their website and my policy is canceled. I forgot to say that when I asked for the deposit and the first installment that have taken in May if I was refunded I was told that were lost. In conclusion, an insurance not serious and I think many people who cheat. Now I look who send me by post notice of redemption for annulment and will speak with a law firm and will be charged with fraud. The way I saw not only the only one to have had problems and if the law looks at all the comments that I think will prove me right.

The problem is that the Italian system of bonus/malus (no claims) is not recognised in the UK.
  • Absolutely useless company, wouldn't recommend to anyone. Wise Driving try to take the following years insurance out of your bank account without confirmation.

I was charged £85 for cancelling a policy which had already ended which is an absolute con.

My advice to anyone looking to insure with this company is DON'T DO IT!

My grandson had insurance with wise driving with black box fitted his insurance was £2966.32 through this exorbitant insurer he paid up front deposit of £652.59 with instalments of £268.42 then this insurer had the audacity to use a credit card company who charged him £370.17 transaction fee on £2313.73 with total amount being £4523.51.
Then through the 12 months they charged him over £700 extra for him being out after curfew he works a 5 day week not getting into 7pm these insurers especially Wise Driving are nothing short of crooks in suits and someone should bring them to task.
    IT,s NOTHING BUT a DISGRACE.

igo4 is another name for, you've guessed it, ADVANTAGE! Report them to the Financial Service Ombudsman and they will send you forms to complete your complaint and your problem will be solved. Next time, stay with probably more th>n. It was very honest with me.

Same here. Complain to the ombudsman and they will cancel the fee. You mustn't embolden them by staying QUIET. They are the same people as ADVANTAGE! I talked to them about my insurance as they wanted to charge me £159 for one year more NO Claim Bonus.

If you let them do it, they will hit someone else again as they HAVE GOT AWAY WITH IT!

Google this site for ADVANTAGE as igo4 is part of ADVANTAGE. Some user even described them as SKANK and always come back for more money. They always start low and then hit you with various excuses.

Are you sure that you've got all of that right? The numbers don't add up, if he was paying by instalments then it would have either been £652.59 deposit plus 10 x £268.42 = £3,336.79 or 11 x £268.42 = £3,605.21. So where does the £4,523.51 come from?

Also, there isn't a curfew on that product?

Find the Financial Ombudsman phone number and chat to them. They will be very pleased to help you. They know all about igo4, wisedriving, hastingdirect smartmiles and most of all, behind them is ADVANTAGE. Google that name here and you will know more. Just phone and chat.
