Well done on the £50 it does make a difference even small amounts.

Good luck with the audit as you say what's the worse that can happen I'm sure you have done plenty before we can compare notes when I am through my first one in March.

Car sounds like it was a good buy.

Thank you for your comments tootalullah and TallGirl. Always appreciated.

Bad news at work. Looks like I and others may be made redundant. Bad money issues.

So, now looking for alternatives. Not that much available in my area. Checked CitA and Shelter websites. Couple on there I may fill in application forms for.

Bit of a pain that I didn't get the mortgage paid off first. I suppose I was always aware this may happen, which is why I wanted to clear it ASAP. Now, I have to consider holding onto as much money as possible whilst I can, until another job comes onto the horizon, preferably before my current one goes belly up.

Good , I am being proactive in the face of adversity.
Bad, couldn't have come at a worst time! So much going on.
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Oh no to redundancy not sure where you are based but two local bureaux here cannot recruit full time debt supervisor post the other it's training manager. When we recruit we just don't get the applicants so please apply for anything Cita as long as you like the look of it and are up for a challenge of course.

I would also look at Council jobs and HA's many organisations value our skills. If you are near the Midlands I might know of something else feel free to pm me I. Quite good at Cita forms (sorry to brag don't mean too)

    Take care

Thanks for the best wishes TallGirl and icontinuetodream. Nothing to report on the work front as yet. No news is good news in my opinion.

Unfortunately, I really hate debt work. My worst subject, although I can do !!!, training, management or specialist employment law. But, unfortunately, I am nowhere near the south coast, so will have to continue searching in the north, where I am now.

Lovely job going in Blackpool, but don't know if its too far away, but needs must.

Anyway, will stay positive. I may be here for a few more years yet. After all, what's the worst that can happen? I have been overpaying for so long that to drop to interest only for a period would not have a huge detrimental effect.

Plus, I can tell I am not taking this seriously as yet, as I keep buying presents for Rufus and spending and living as usual, with no effort to curb my spending. Make hay whilst the sun shines, because it may be soon a period of austerity in the Tahlullah household and Rufus will be eating anything I put in front of him, and no amount of catawalling will make a difference.

Got an interview for the Chief Exec job in Blackpool, but still not sure. Such a long way away. Interviews on Wednesday. Have to decide by Monday and give apologies if I don't go. But such a big step, to not attend an interview.

On the positive side, another job has come up much closer to home. Again, on the same salary, but not CEO. Less stress for the same salary. Positives, not pay cut involved, and reasonable travel time, so will complete an application form.

Lost part of the roof in the storms,, so this has to be repaired, but no idea how long before the roofer can get to me. So many people have had damage to their property this winter. I feel for those who have been flooded. Storm damage seems insignificant compared to dirty water through the entire downstairs of your home.

Stay positive everyone, Spring is on the way.

Sorry to hear about the roof :(.....as far as the job is concerned, I say follow your instincts and remember that you don't have to accept any position you are offered even if you do attend the interview! ;):D

Sorry to hear about the roof mine finally got fixed this week but I was told as we had felt underneath there wasn't any rush to get it done so maybe that's the same in your case.

Well done on getting the interview for the CEO role I would of to the interview and then decide I really would. Our world is really small and some people are funny and things can get twisted whereas should you decide not to take the job you can say time etc etc.

Sounds good the the other more local job honestly from my own experience go for it and then see if it's for you. I assume it's within the same organisation as your in now so you would know what type of managers would be above you and if you can work with them. Less stress sounds good and who knows you might get a stab at the CEO role in the future.

Anyway best of luck with it all.

  • Hi, first time reader. I'd always recommend going for the interview as it will do no harm to have recent practice before interviewing for the job you really want

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I thought about it long and hard. Madness not to attend, can always say no etc. But in the end, I followed my gut instinct and sent an email this morning. Sometimes, when you work in a particular field at a particular level, getting the interview is the easy bit. Your past work experience and cv says it all for you. Of course you can do the job. The stumbling block is yourself. And in this case, it's me. Truly, I can't be bothered going back into a CEO position. Life is just easier one step below.

As I said before, it tells me a lot about where I am in myself and where I want to be in the world. It says that I still have not made the decision to walk away from my present job, that I still have more to do to help turn the organisation around. It says I will only walk when I can do no more.

So, it looks like I am not job hunting at the moment, I a digging in. When I am unemployed, then I can look for a job, and will be more willing to travel the distance required to take any job that comes up.

I either have a month or two, or I have as long as it takes to get the organisation off its knees and back on its feet. Lets see shall we?

    Have a nice day everyone.
