  • Long time lurker finally motivated myself to join in as needing to get some savings together over next couple of years. As we both work full time there is little chance of earning more so trying to rein in the spending. Budget is £200 for 2 adults and 2 children and this must include any takeaways as they are definitely our weakness!
  • Right, removing the pet food from the budget, only human food, and as I'm a tadge skint its to be £200 for this month. Thankyou xx

Went not the local town centre yesterday with DH to get some chicken from the butchers and some star drops. The star drops is to clean the cover of a seat pad on a chair I had recovered recently that the little dog has decided to use as a deck chair as it is in the sun coming through the window. my mum suggests just using the foam so I will give it a go.

My DH was very Impressed with the prices and the range in home bargains and poundland. Bought cake tin liners for making Christmas cakes, mini marshmallows for making rocky road for my mums birthday gift, noodles, mr toms bars for my drawer at work (4 for the price of one from the canteen), glue to mend shoes and a bottle of water.

I bought some steak mince from the butchers to try make shepherds pie again. I am a recent ex veggie and my last effort was unedible but I enjoyed my step mums so thought I would try again. I paid £2.49 for a lb I think. Not sure if this is good or not.

    Spends were:

    £12.49 butchers
    £4.00 pound land
    £2.86 HB

We made a 'takeaway' for tea last night. 2 currys (1 was the value tesco sauce which was delicious), HM oven chips, value rice and poppadums and it all cost just over £5. DH was laughing as I ate every last bit but with a takeaway I can only manage about a third:D
    Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
    Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
    Make £2021 extra income - £99.75
  • I'm back in this month with a food GC of £100.00. I havn't done this properly for maybe a year, I did a sainsbobs shop yesterday of £85.16, it was more but with in store discounts I got it down by £8.40 and with another £12.40 in coupons I think I did good. I am now 100% stocked for the month, today i'm going to clean out my spare freezer for tomorrow I shall be doing some extreme bulk cooking :D

    Wish me luck.
