Best rate foreign currency - TESCO

Probably been raised before, and deep apologies if it has.

Historically M&S has given best rates for foriegn currnecy followed by Post Office but I have found Tesco to be better and has no commission on currency, 1% on sterling travellers cheques.

As an example the Cyprus pound is consistantly '1' above M&S - eg M&S giving 81.0 Tesco is 82.0

My mum ordered online and came next day by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

Usual £5.00 delivery charge if ordering under £500 of currency or travellers cheques.

Something to bear in mind for the Summer Holidays.

Would have used Travelex for my holiday to Malta but it closes at 9pm in Newcastle Airport (I think! The website was spectacuularly unhelpful) so to collect my cash I would have had to be there 6 hours before my flight. I hate waiting in airports at the best of times so no way, Jose!

I checked around and Tesco were the cheapest for currency under £500.

It's only mildly annoying that the Tesco service is provided by Travelex but the rate is worse.

However, it still beats the quotes I got from the Post Office (which I've always used before) and Royal Bank of Scotland (very poor rate today compared to others).

I think Martin should do a number on this before the summer and shake these b*****s up a bit!
