Not a great start but March is always awful as we have a huge house insurance premium of over £1400 to pay. Nightmare but we cannot use the normal comparison sites as most don't do thatched properties.
Hopefully things will pick up a bit over the next quarter but I want to get my emergency fund up to £10k before overpaying the mortgage, so maybe not. Touch and go whether we can.
Good luck everyone, some really impressive posts!

I'm so sorry for going awol and not submitting my challenge amounts and starting balance on time. I was made redundant several weeks ago and have still not managed to find another job so means I have no idea how realistic my challenge plans are but I'll give it a go.:p My challenge is to...
Reduce my mortgage from £24,277.58 to £12,000. :money:
It will be 25 years since I took out my 1st mortgage in summer 2019 and I would have loved to be mortgage free by then. Hopefully I can beat my £12k aim but we'll have to wait and see what happens...Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

sorry to hear about the job, fingers crossed for you finding something new. it may not be the path you had intended to mortgage free but you know the path.

i've revised your target but please can you check and confirm with a form submission.
those who have submitted chart 1 updates, as has already been highlighted its now jan, april, july, oct for updates, i'll hold off inputting anything until we are closer to the chart date incase people make any more payments after their march pay day & want to put another form through.
my path is wobbling a little as i've made some extra spending on a short barcelona break to visit a friend, a few other treats more than usual & am likely to be changing my car before the end of the year but I am also systematically sorting out the house in an effort to list things on gumtree and make some extra cash from my no longer wanted or neededitems.- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

Oh dear, no hope is there! I was going by the periods of the last challenge which I did not change as a recurring three month reminder. I will send an updated one next month.
Thanks AFK
