Thanks Chumpy. Yes - kids all well again. I'm busy packing for a couple of nights camping. Really quite excited (I love a bit of camping)!
Mortgage overpay this month of £381.00. Most chuffed with ourselves!
Happy bank holiday weekend everyone.

:hello:Hi Brizz.
All ok thanks. Been a bit MIA due to life 'stuff' just taking up huge amounts of time. Still plodding on and just reported an OP of £313 for June. Grocery budget just squeaked under too at a whopping 72p to spare! Had paid the £45 delivery pass renewal this month from the grocery budget which clobbered us a little bit.
Hoping there'll be a bit more breathing space in July. Actually, we're starting tomorrow by just the four of us heading out for a wee walk and cup of tea in the morning. We haven't done anything together just us 4 for so long. There have been hundreds (ok, slight exaggeration) of family birthday events so we've been together but there have always been other peeps there too. All rather nice but am looking forward to being mother hen to just my brood!
Hope all ok in Brizz-land. Will catch up on diaries soon.

Aaaaannnndddd another month goes by.
OP of £214 in July.
Off on BIG TRIP in two and a half weeks. Can't wait.
Pony share still going well - he is such a poppet. Girl MM is entering her first competition on him in a few weeks. A little entry level jumping round. Bless.
Lovely having the kids around. I'm still working 4 days a week and my Mum is a total star for helping us during the holidays. We use a mixture of a babysitter, my Mum, annual leave and friends. Mum does the bulk by far though so will take her out for a dinner to say big thank you in September.
That's it for now.
Happy summer all.

OP of £395 for September.
Nearly at target! £68 to go. Have an OP of £220 already budgeted for in October and November, plus what I can squirrel from other sources so looking likely to finish the year about £400 ahead of my target.
Been busy. Big trip was fantastic. Back down to earth with a bump. Talk about post holiday blues.
May have my hours at work reduced. Not a bad thing as am so busy I could do with a few more hours at home. Obviously if it reduces too much then that will be cause for concern and I may need to seek alternative employment. Fingers crossed though.
Hope all ok. Haven't been keeping up to date on here. Not enough hours in the day.

OP of £258 for October taking the yearly OP total to £3490 which has put me over my original target of £3,300 - whoop whoop! Dance of joy around the kitchen. Am very chuffed with that.
We have also managed this year to:- Go on BIG holiday and have it all paid for before we went
- Upgrade one of the cars to a new to us Golf that arrives on Wednesday this week - all paid for
- Decorate girl MM's bedroom and get a couple of bits of new furniture
- Pay for 2 x school trips at £400 odd each
- Pay for pony share (bless him - best thing ever!)
- Buy new to us dresser for kitchen (upcycled very nicely by yours truly)
- Have fun, laughter and love along the way

Oh, and mortgage now below the £270K mark forever!
Off out to celebrate with a saved up for meal out. Actually, getting out of trick or treating for the first time in years is the real reason for heading off out. Mine are a bit big for it now so we thought we'd distract them with dinner somewhere nice.MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0 -
Hello,
Finally getting some time to catch up on diaries and am giving some thinking time to next years goals.
We finally seem to be making a little headway into our whopping mortgage. Having been on interest only since we had the kids and only being able to OP bits and bobs until I went back to work, we have been (since Jan 2014) on a repayment mortgage and have been overpaying. We're pleased with how well it is working. Still a long way to go though so I've set next years OP target at £3,450.00. Barring changes in circumstances this should be well achievable.
We've got the new to us car coming next week and I'm hoping it will give us a good 4 years (OH does a lot of miles). There is always a car saving pot on the go - its a constant thing.
Still saving all the annual expenses a year in advance. For 2018's spends we need to save about £5,600 and that includes holidays, car maintenance, tax, insurance (house and car), breakdown cover, dentist trips, Christmas money, kids bus passes etc. So I've allowed £470 per month to cover all of that. Sometimes we're short a few bob in the annual expenses pot but I can always find the extra money from generic savings if I need to. Keeping it tight means we have to look around for the best deals!
Slight adjustments made to the kids activity funds. One child doing less, one child doing more! One of them has a school trip at £480 we need to fund for next July.
Kids clothing needs to be upped a bit. Growing like weeds the pair of them.
Other than that I'm hoping for food bills and petrol not to go up too much next year. I'd like a new front door but that's a want rather than a need and will be expensive so not sure we'll do that. Still thinking about that one.
Off to make a cup of tea now. Will post targets when the challenges are open.
Hope all well.

News flash.....
I work from home occasionally as I get more done and am not constantly interrupted. Always end up getting freezing cold despite having blankets on just because I tend to sit very still and focus on spreadsheets (the heating is off during the day)! Have just worked out that filling a hot water bottle and keeping it on my lap is very effective indeed. So good that I've had to abandon it and remove the blankets before I melt!
It took a while but I reckon those Old Stylers will be proud of me!

OP made for November of £274.00 taking the total for this year to £3,764.00. Hip hip hooray.
