Today we've launched our new look Forum for guests.

If you're not a member or logged out of your member profile you'll see our new blue and white version.

 • If you're already a member you'll see the old green version and won't be switched over unless you choose to.
 • If you're a member and would like to see it, you can do so by clicking the link in the green banner at top.
 • If you do switch and don't like the new version you can always switch back.

Below we've tried to answer the questions you've asked before or may ask.

Why have you completely revamped the Forum?

Our aim is to help all Forum users, whether they’re old hands or complete newbies, to find what they’re looking for much more easily and quickly.

Let’s be honest, the old Forum was cluttered. It’d been years since we updated our look and even longer since our last full makeover.

What’s changed?

The new Forum works in the same way as the old version you know and love. Your login details, threads, posts, private messages and all your other information are still there, they’re just in a new home.

The new look is more intuitive, but some parts will be different to what you’re familiar with and may take a while to get used to. Please bear with us, the changes will be for the better.

What happened to the green and white?

It’s still there for existing members but for non-logged in users it's been replaced with a new blue scheme. We went through several colour schemes before making our choice, but please let us know if we can make the colours even better.

Will the new Forum work better on my mobile phone and tablet?

Yes. Making the Forum more compatible with your mobiles and tablets was one of the main reasons for the makeover. We hope you’ll find it a much improved experience.

How do I log into the new Forum?

There is a new login and notifications box top left of your screen, which can be locked or can follow you as you scroll. This leads you to your private messages, replies to threads you've posted on and replies to threads you've viewed.

Have a click through and play with Your Settings (on the right) to change the way you see it.

How have the threads changed?

You've been asking for some time for an easy way to find the threads you'd posted on. We've made it much simpler to check on threads where you've left your comments and others that you've viewed via your notifications box top left of the Forum.

Also, the first post of a thread is now at the top of each page, whichever you arrive on. You'll no longer need to click back to the first page to read it.

We've added Twitter and Facebook buttons into every post so you can easily let friends know about that cracking MoneySaving tip you've seen.

What about WOW Factor and Grabbit?

Deals can still be thanked/WOW'd and you can still subscribe to WOW emails on individual boards.

What else has changed?

The search box should be more obvious and you can choose the level you would like to search (board or whole Forum) using the dropdown menu.

Signatures are now collapsible. Click the arrow on the right hand side to open large signatures up or leave them closed to focus on forum replies.

We've updated our Forum boards with a range of new images.

In addition, we’ve removed threaded and hybrid views – a little-known and little-used feature.

Last but not least, our Board Guide volunteers who help us keep things running smoothly on the Forum are now much easier to spot if you have a Forum posting question.

What happens now?

That's not it. We'll continue to make changes based on your feedback and we'll continue to ask for your help in shaping our Forum's future.

If you joined the Forum before the new version launched you have the option to stay on the old green version or switch over to the new blue version. We'd love you to use the new version but if you want to stick with the old version that's fine. We don't plan to switch it off and we will continue to support it.

If you're an existing member and would like to try the new version you can switch via this link (you can always find that link in your User Settings).

Though you can't reply on this thread, please email your feedback to us on forumfeedback@moneysavingexpert.com as we'll be collating everything here as we continue to further improve the Forum.

Thanks

Huge thanks go to our extremely hard-working team of developers and designers who've worked on this for so long, our fabulous group of testers and all Forum users without whom we couldn't have done this.

Thank you!
