There is a Peacock in our garden!

This was the only place I could think of to put this.
Yesterday I heard a strange noise. Thinking there was something wrong with the dog I went to investigate. She was fast asleep in the kitchen so I went outside.
There sitting on the patio was a peacock.
When it saw me it walked away into the bushes but kept coming back.
It is still here today.
Not quite sure what to do of anything. Do not want to ring the RSPCA as it is hard enough to get them to come out to an injured animal and anyway is seems ok.

As they are a non native species then, if it is roaming free, you should report it to Natural England who should come and catch it (or shoot it) and look to prosecute the owner0

This happened to relatives in West Sussex. They phoned the local police who were aware of a peacock keeper in the area. Peacock keeper was contacted, and turned up with raisins. Peacocks like raisins, and it was lured away to its proper home.
Hopefully, someone somewhere will know of places where peacocks live. They are noisy and large, you can't be discrete about having peacocks around.'Get Brexit done' is a lie[

Where I used to live there were peacocks roaming free in the local park. They regularly went awol, wandering up the high street and holding up the traffic.
Police advised leave them alone, they will go home in their own time.0 -

One that turned up in a boyfriend's garden had travelled (swooping/gliding/flying, whatever it is that they do) about 2 miles as the [strike]crow[/strike] peacock flies from a very posh school.
Do you have any posh hotels, houses or schools with massive grounds near you? I'd give them a call in case they're missing an essential part of the scenery.

I have been leaving water out for him perhaps that is why he is still here?

Contact your local BBC radio station - they usually take up things like this and get their audience involved in finding who is missing a peacock.0 -
I'd be delighted to find a peacock in my garden. Though I suspect the local foxes might be too.0
