Warning - The Gas Superstore gone bust

  • I ordered with the Gas Superstore on 25th April and found out they had ceased trading just 2 days later.

    I immediately started a claim through Visa Chargeback with Natwest and 19 days later they are saying that my claim is likely to be rejected as I never received an invoice from The Gas Superstore.

    This seems to be a loop hole they are using to get out of reversing the transaction and we are now down by £1700 and needing to order appliances from elsewhere.

    Can anyone help or suggest anything we can do?

    I have just started maternity leave and am 9 months pregnant and cant afford to lose the money.

    I would have thought that the "The Gas Superstore: New Order # 130003****" email would suffice for an invoice.

    Did you use a credit card?

  • Didn't use a credit card unfortunately as stupidly had a house renovation loan which covered it.

    I have sent details to ripoffbritain and had auto email reply this morning, but not too sure what they can do to help.

    They often pick up cases like yours, you never know. Good luck.

  • Great news Fortyfoot!

    I have just spoken with Natwest again and they have said that my case has been passed from the retail disputes to a specialist team and I should have the result at some point next week.

    Not happy that its now been over 21 days and I still have no idea if I will have to fight this further.

    Unfortunately if it does get declined, I cant afford to lose the money so will be fighting it all the way.

    Have always been happy with NatWest for the last 20 or so years, so hoping that they come through with a positive result

    No reponse from NatWest but the money has been returned anyway.

  • only slight concern is that the natwest letter arrived through the post yesterday to say that they were refunding the money temporarily and may be taken again at a later date. Seems strange?
