Which coalition would you vote for?
The opinion polls suggest we’ll have a hung parliament – if so, we could find ourselves with a coalition government again. So for fun, we want to know if you could pick a coalition instead of a party, which you would pick?
Which two-party coalition would you pick (order based on seats in last parliament – the one listed first isn’t necessarily the majority party)?

Just watched the Tory Manifesto on television and the commentator asked the question: What would you like the government to give you?
My answer: Nothing!
The government is not there to give to one and deny another. It's job is to provide for the common defence of the nation, keep the schools running, fires out, bad guys off the street....etc.
The welfare state used to be a safety net to catch the poorest and vulnerable in society, but now, it's a way of life and a selling point that politicians use as a launching point for their run for power and pretty soon it will be the end of Great Britain when the government can't pay for the interest on that £1.4 trillion debt....not too long to go now.
I guess it's part of the 'fairness agenda' that everyone loves talking about. Like the advert for mascara, you're worth it, or you deserve it. Hey it's only fair that you have a piece of the cake cause you're worth it. Doesn't matter that it has to be paid by your neighbour or brother-in-law, you deserve it because that's the fair thing to do, right?
People seem to forget that £1.4 Trillion elephant sitting on the coffee table and instead vote for whoever will promise to 'give' them something from Father Christmas' big bag of goodies. Free school meals, free childcare, free, free. Like the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang....and it's all FREEEEEE!
It's completely irrelevant that all these giveaways are not doable and will come from the person who lives next door to you, but who cares, it's all FREEEEEE, right.
Just the world we live in now, give me, give me, give me and don't care who pays for it.0 -
Thank God it's not just MSEers who get to vote! Most votes for a LibDem/Tory or Tory/UKIP coalition! What we have already or the fascist version! Good grief!

Does rather indicate what have previously believed true. UKIP is just the Tories pretending to be working class, and offending the said working class with their extreme views in the meantime! No coalitions. I'm afraid I disagree that the government isn't there to give you anything. They work FOR US! It seems to have got lost that they are the ultimate public servant. I believe the main reason for extensive voter apathy is because polititians across parties are seen to only be serving themselves. I'm afraid voting to keep fat cat business leaders safe from the taxmans clutches at the cost to the remaining 90% of the public means voting for the Tories in any form is a no. Until there are politicians in power who can't claim £35 for their breakfast and claim people can live on £7 a week ( for those not in the know this is Iain Duncan Smith - DWP) we have no chance of having a Government who looks after the best interests of the majority. It's not rocket science, think about the type of people who go into politics and their motivations? You only need to look at the expenses scandal to see the tip of the iceberg of the morals the people we elect to represent us possess.
A major sea change is needed, something none of the main parties presently offer

I voted for Conservative/Lib Dem, if we must have a coalition then that would be better than any other option (though I'd prefer a Conservative majority)

It won't happen because UKIP will come 2nd all over the place and actually win next to no seats.
Clacton is the only seat they're pretty certain of, South Thanet likely, any other I'd give them a less than 50% chance of winning, if they win over 10 seats I'll abseil down Big Ben wearing nothing but a smile!If you don't like what I say slap me around with a large trout and PM me to tell me why.

I shall just be pleased if there is another coalition. This would at least offer some protection from both the Looney Left and the Rabid Right

It is polls like this that make me want to leave this country as people seem to have no idea of what this government have really been doing - mainly due to our media which is owned by 6 companies and we are given lies all the time.
The conservatives, lib dems and ukip are to be avoided at all costs. There have been so many deaths of the elderly, freezing to death - kept quiet and also many people who have starved to death when their benefits have been stopped, many of these were mentally ill. There are no repercussions when this happens - the DWP just carry on and Iain Duncan-Smith just carries on living for free with his in-laws who claim £millions from the EU for their land.
Get wise and find out the truth and do not vote for any of these scum PLEASE0 -
I couldn't agree more happyinflorida. Look at the demographic you are polling here though. Many of the people on this site are not here because they have no money, often quite the opposite. I'm afraid the poll makes it clear it is them who are voting here, not the rest of us!
It defies logic that anyone would actively choose to inflict another 4 years of the present arrangement on the country.
Coalitions are bad news as all you get is a watering down of both parties policies -something none of the electorate voted for!
