Strictly Come Dancing 2017 thread 9th May 17 at 4:03 PM
As the new head judge (Shirley Ballas) has been announced today I thought it was an opportune excuse to start the 2017 SCD thread!

Shirley has mentioned on a couple of occasions something to the effect of 'great choice of music' or 'you chose a lovely piece' .

I thought I remembered Len explaining once that the Pros were given the music and the dance - have I made that up?

Gotta say, I'm quite impressed with SCD this year - or maybe I'm mellowing?

Not bothered about DMcG being a trained dancer.

Thought that Chizzy should have been in longer.

Can already see Aston and Alexandra in the final, or final five.

Money is on Aston to win. Or Alexandra.

Really like the results show dance.

Charlotte was the right result this week.

Would not have believed Susan could have pulled that dance out this week. She did really well imo.

Btw, do we all know that Aston's girlfriend is a pro dancer trained by Len himself? (Not been following the thread from the start)

Gemma is definitely my favourite this year - hope she's in the final too. But also quite like Joe and Davood.

    Good stuff though eh?

Edit - oh, jury is still out on SB, and imo the judging is a bit all over the place atm.

    Yea gods!

That is disgraceful! Why are there not loads of complaints?

I'm really torn this year, as there are such nice contestants, but with such blatant ringers it's so unfair.

The i is fairly sympathetic to Alexandra. It describes her as a singer and dancer, but goes on to say that it's difficult to find celebrities with no dance experience.

    Tosh!

I was shown how to throw a dart properly once, sbout 15 years ago. So I've had a little darts experience. I wouldn't like compete against George whatever his name is.
