Well Saturday was a NSD and yesterday I bought a book for my phone which will last a while for £2.49 and today I spent £1.49 on some snacks for work tonight as I left mine on the side.

I'm trying to keep all spending to a minimum but like the fact I know where every penny is going.

Only 24 days to pay day and I've filled in my form for tax credits again so that will help.

    Hope everyone is ok.

Today my goal is to ring Sky and cancel my TV subscription for now. We have the TV, phone and broadband with them so it's too expensive for me on my own.

I'll keep the phone and broadband then when I do have my own place I can just move it there.

Tonight's the night new properties get listed and I can't wait. Although it's been two weeks since any new ones were listed, I'm assuming there might not be many with it being the Christmas period.

    Fingers crossed.

Good luck with the new properties Tink, I'll keep everything crossed that there is something perfect for you and DD!

Quite a few years ago now when I was serious about cancelling, sky actually gave me free TV for 12 months :) are you on the free broadband offer? If not, the guy who eventually called to persuade me to stay with sky said if I rang in February and asked what deal they could do, the likelihood would be free broadband offered :)

Morning everyone. Well there were two houses that I bid on last night. The only problem being they are 3 bed so I'm not sure how high up the list I would be. I do qualify for them or it wouldn't have let me bid so fingers crossed.

I did have a drive round yesterday and spotted another flat that I haven't seen listed so I'm going to ring about that today.

Just can't sleep properly at the moment with this cold. Thought I had escaped it as only suffered for a couple of days but it's back with a vengeance.

I think I might have another hour when DD has gone to school.

    Thanks Rosa and Kirsty.

Sam, I'm hoping this is our year. Moving out will definitely be a fresh start for us.

It's very awkward still but liveable at the moment. I'm just hoping things move quickly.

    Take care.

Fingers crossed for the houses Tink, it's worth a try even if they are 3 bed - you never know!

This WILL be yours and DDs year, you are so determined to do what is best for both of you that it couldn't be anything but.

Hope you got an extra hour and are feeling a bit better :)

Can you guess?? No?? I didn't get offered one of the flats, I got the choice of two :j:j

One is empty now and the other is available at the end of the month. I went to have a nosey where they both were and at first I didn't like the look of the empty one, but when I drove round the back it seemed to have a very well kept garden so it can't be that bad and the other one has the garden on the front. Where we live the flats are in blocks of four at the end of a row of houses so the garden can be at the front or back. Oh and they are both on the first floor.

I've got to have an affordability interview next week and I guess if I went for the empty one we could be in it very soon. If it's the other one then it would be the end of the month as the tenants haven't left yet.

Also, good news, I got a message from Freecycle that someone has a fridge freezer I can have and she has agreed to keep it for me until next week when I can collect it. And, I went up to our local St Lukes furniture warehouse and found a sofa and two chairs for £95.

I'm also setting myself a new challenge as I've not had a look to see if there is a thread for it yet. It's the penny challenge where you save a penny of the first day of the year, two on the second day etc. Even on the last day of the year it would only be £3.65 and that is less than half a packet of cigarettes so very achievable. In the end you end up with about £667 or something very near to that. I'm even in the middle of making my own printable so I can mark off each day :rotfl:

I think I've had too much excitement for one day. Fingers crossed next week goes to plan.
