Appropriate gift for Eid?

as a muslim myself, just wanted to say how sweet you are to be going to so much trouble to find an appropriate gift for Eid.
I honestly think a simple card and your warm wishes would make a fantastic present on their own, it's lovely when non-muslims get involved in Eid & Ramadan!
having said that, everyone loves home-made cakes & biccies! i was just trying to think of some of the pressies i've had for eid, and its the normal smellies, choccies etc, so anything home-made would be lovely.
Hope this helps!0 -
as a muslim myself there seems to be good non-muslims out there who look after and help one another.
with most of the media nowadays focused on muslims/islam this thread sure does bring out the true nature of the ppl...
well done!!!0 -
http://www.zalatimo.com/ make the most divine sweets (not cheap but any excuse to buy them is good and they're big tins). There are plenty of recipes online for sweets too and they're fun to make (if a little sticky) the smell of rosewater in the kitchen is lovely.0

I think homemade cakes/biscuits/sweets as long as they haven't got animal products or alcohol in are a lovely idea.0

This is a bit soppy but I actually feel really proud that a thread like this can exist here. It just goes to show that there is some hope for us all! Eid mubarak to all (I really hope that's right - please correct me if not - it's what my son put on his Eid card that he made at school!)"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

I give my non-muslim friends eid presents using the same technique they use to give me xmas/diwali/hannukah presents - buy what they like! Traditionally families exchange items like money or clothes (like the dreadful outfit my MIL gave :embarasse ) but you could give book tokens, hand made gifts, candles (urggh)...anything. It's the thought that counts.0
