Ebay update - 14 items sold so far with a dozen only ending in the next hour so still a chance for those yet. I listed the bag that i found in the loft which was 14 items incidentally! I'll relist everything again tonight for 24 hours so will have 100 items listed again!

Well worth the effort and a good phase of decluttering!

  • i saw someone else on facebook that had written out the 365 amounts if you were going to do that challenge and they are planning to cross off one number a day, so it doesn't end up being expensive at Christmas.

    Well done on the fleabaying!

I like that idea - gives you the option to save whatever you want as you're able - on a flush day you could do a bigger amount, on another day a smaller amount.

I've also seen the recommendation to do it in reverse as well (so the larger targets come first and December's the lowest month), as motivation tends to be high at the start of the year and the expensive stuff (holidays) are at the end of the year.

Lucky I've got no eBay targets to be honest its just a good opportunity to declutter. I have a deal with Mrs SJ that she can gave the PayPal account monies to spend however she want. It works well as she doesn't need to dip into monthly money for clothes. So, we view it as free money. In the main its kids and her clothes we sell.

15 sales this evening, very impressed!

As for the challenge thing its certainly one to go in some shape or form. I suppose the crucial thing is to work out how much you'd like to save firstly as you could do it monthly (i am), quarterly, etc...

97p TT'd this morning followed by my 3p for the 3rd if January. After the 15 sales last night, a further 3 have sold through the night on the relists, and we have lots of watchers dotte about (we do have 99 items of clothing listed to be fair). We've sold so much I had to buy some more postage packets, our cant complain at 100 for £3.89 off eBay itself.

Quiet day planned today for the boys, DS1 is most disgruntled though that it's back to school tomorrow!

Just go auctions, but if someone emails asking for a buy it now and we have no bids we generally accept it. The main goal is to get rid of stuff so the majority of clothes lists are a £1, with a few going up to £3.

I vary the length of lists but try to make sure they finish on a Friday or Sunday night. Sunday's are great as people look at things in the morning when they're in bed, then we finish the lists around 8.30 thinking other people's kids are bathed and in bed and mums may have a quick look at what they've seen earlier!

    That's my theory anyway!
