I'd like to join please - I think I'm quite minimalist but over the last year more has been creeping in. OH has finally moved all his crap from his parents in as they moved. We've been living together almost 10 years and he has golf clubs, snowboarding gear, old games consoles that don't work on our tv and endless clothes he does 't wear stashed in our spare room. I want him to get rid of them but he says he needs them even though none of them have been used for a decade!!
I want to declutter some books (we have a shelf full of them that probably won't be re-read), computer games (we have several boxes of them he doesn't play), kitchen supplies we don't use as we're getting a new kitchen, clothes, and craft supplies.
I already decluttered toiletries, travel supplies, and paperwork over Christmas, and plan on scanning in documents I need, but not physical copies. It just feels like once I get one area dealt with another seems to get worse and I don't feel like I'm making progress"I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better." Paul Theroux0 -

Tonight I spent just under 2 hours decluttering papers.
With 4 kids, and maybe just life in general,I get an awful lot of paper in this house.I always have "a" box/basket/wicker thing/plastic box/something else " to put papers, with a view to deal with later,or because it needs refering to,say ,over the course of a school year.Problem is,papers just linger there.Eventually box gets so full,I need to start a new box.Previously,I have been so overwhelmed with these papers breeding in my house,I have moved old boxes to the loft, never to be seen again :eek:.
Alot of paper/notes were recycled, some kept for future reference, some set aside to put in my "filing cabinet"(actually a filing box,by the Really Useful company. You can hang papers in it,filing cabinet style.)Probably won't get around to that for a while-am going away for most of this weekend.Besides,I still have another 3-4 boxes of papers sitting arount the house to sort like I have tonight .
So I am counting that as item 162SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76
