Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.
Many thanks to Dusty for last weeks thread
There are 3 levels per day to fit in with how much time you have. Feel free to mix and match to suit your own personal circumstances.
Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up
These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.
Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

I'm in Bossy!
I've tried to keep up with Fred this week, but now even finding it is getting a tad tricky. Huge (((hugs))) to everyone who has the need or want of one - several people judging by some of the posts I've read. It all seems overwhelming.
Churning out stuff everywhere from cupboards all over the house and ruthlessly pruning the contents. I'm drowning in gibble again and sinking.
I think it was Shortbird who first coined the phrase 'herding laundry' and I absolutely love it. After three weeks of non-stop rain and an ooo w/m I'd got it all coralled in one place and know exactly what she meant. It's all washed and out on the line, at last.Better is good enough.0 -
thanks bossy, just rang mil, shes got shingles and forgot that she was supposed to be ringing me after doc had been she was going to give Dh thwe prescrip when he went round tonight, i said the shop will be shut then so she said oh doc said asdas open 24/7, asda is 4 miles away!!!!!
im way now to go and collect it for herSPC~12 ot 124

I'll be about too.. I'm having a text argument with KH.. apparently at 13 DD3's views about going to his or not should not be taken into account and I should FORCE her to go against her will if necessary.. er.. no!! .. As far as I am concerned she can go to his whenever she wants so long as I know where she is that is ok by me.. he only wants them when they fit in his social life.. so now I am being threatened with solicitors (who would also take into account her feelings on the matter) and it has been twisted into a tirade of abuse against DS2 Sometimes I really hate him... it seems so unfair that the men who would love and cherish their children are taken away and the ones who emotionally abuse theirs stick around to cause as much heartache as possible for all concerned..
My alarm didn't go off for opticians so I realised too late to go to the appointment... *furious with myself* ... I now need to phone and grovel a LOT.. we missed the last appointment due to her chickens, I did phone to cancel though as soon as possible.
Lasagne for dinner tonight and I must get some laundry folded, my hands are so painful from sanding cupboards I can't bring myself to do it but my kitchen is invisible under the gubbins strewn about I must ignore the pain and get on with it ..

Chi-me something weird happened with the thread this week - it looks like it somehow got merged with another thread when it shouldn't have, so Bossy has moved us onto a fresh thread for the end of the week for clarity, as peeps were failing to find us due to the thread name now not referring to Flying or Flylady.
If I have it correct, we'll be using this thread for the rest of this week (til Sunday night) and then Dusty, whose turn it is to do next week (she alternates with Natty) will do us a new thread to start a new Flying week on Monday, and will do a link to it on Sunday evening.

Hello, thanks Bossy. Hope digger doesn't come back over the weekend.
'Come fly with me' - love it!
Me too - on both counts! Now I can't stop singing!!! which is not at all pleasant!:o
Hopefully temporary name change will mean I'll be on a roll this weekend with the flying.
Had to make the difficult decision that my book voluntary job is too much. I did say I'd have to see how it went when I started. Never like to give up on things or to let people down though.
However I gave up work because of health reasons - as Dsis said "paid and in pain - you could just about cope with that - unpaid and in pain - not very clever". Have found another position advertised that I have been waiting for ages for - just hope they'll have me. Reception at local hospice. They have been brill to me over last 18 years so time to give a little back I think.
Hope you all "come fly with me" over the weekend and have a good one. xxJuly 16 £95/£200
