I've got 16 days of work this month - week off at the very end of March, so am hoping to save £80 by not buying lunch this month.£2 Savers Club 2014 #38 | 20p Savers Club 2014 #37 | 50p Savers Club 2014 #29

Hi all
I'd like to join in please.
For the last three weeks I haven't bought anything for lunches at all - normally I'd buy them at the weekend but I've managed to go on leftovers (one week I had a roast beef dinner S/M/T, then braised the beef and had it with rice/veg W/T/F!) and food out of the cupboard.
Tomorrow is stretching me a bit so to keep today as a NSD, I'm opting for a banana sandwich! :rotfl:
I've worked out 20 work days for me in March so I'll be taking lunch in from home for each of them.0 -
Gah I kind of missed posting on the Feb thread!!! Been so busy at work lately its been ridiculous!! But I still did my lunches although I had a week where I did get lunch at work so not as good as January.
So going to try harder in March!!!0 -
Hi and a special thanks and Hi to Shortie.
Thanks for the sandwich ideas, I have a packed lunch ever day and tend to do the same things most days, it is great having a list of ideas. I might print it out and put it on the fridge.
Good luck to every one, hope the ideas inspire you to some great money saving.Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -
Hello! Wandering in for the March thread. MARCH!!! Be Christmas before we know it at this rate!
Thank you To KittieJ for starting us off again, and to Shortie for the list, I must make more effort to use the ideas!
I'm on annual leave all next week, so that along with the bank holiday, I will have 11 workdays this month, so target of 11
And a big hearty welcome to the newcomers! :grouphug: Have a dodgy group hug!
Good luck everyone!0 -
Hello!!
Been busy pack lunching it for weeks, or brown bag as our US friends call it. But today, nothing. Different shift at work at short notice. Pah.
But I'll be back on track on Monday. :j
Like I said in last months thread I bought a perfume using money I'd have spent on packed lunches. It's only a posh one too.
So that's really motivating me. £25 on over priced food or a perfume treat. Clearly not going to do that every week but it makes you think.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hi SNH - like you I have a week off in March so both LTW days and petrol costs will be reduced - hurray! :j
Hi mam - yes well done with your perfume purchase :T you'll be able to buy a new outfit next at this rate

I always make my own lunch: sandwiches (usually ham and tomato, or homemade egg mayo), banana, apple, and yoghurt. I have been adding Christmas cake since Jan as I got given a huge one at Christmas. Depending on what I am doing that day I will make a full flask of coffee. I will finish off the coffee when I get home if I haven't during the day.Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!
