Electrol data

Hi,

I have moved house a few months ago and update electoral details via gov.uk.

Received a letter from Birmingham city council confirming the change.

I have recently checked my credit report on MSE and clearscore both showing old data. Any idea how long does it take for it to be updated?

Thanks
MS

A year, maybe less, it depends on your council. Whilst you are now on the electoral roll many councils only send a full updated register once a year, some will provide monthly or quarterly updates.
If you have confirmation in written form from the council this may be enough if you send copies to each CRA
  • Our council reports every six weeks, I found this out when they made a mistake with the wife’s details.
Can’t really see it being as long as a year.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
  • It can be for those councils who only report annually.

It is often in December, so the OP may have got lucky with their timing.

So....you could, theoretically, move address three times in a year and your credit file would be showing none of the moves.

  • Theoretically, yes.
  • This link from the Experian website states monthly updates from December to August. But registrations after August are only updated in December
