Fabulous news all round :j Soo pleased to hear your Mum coming home t/m and fandabadosy LSA eh :D

I had an email from the 2 jets peoples, offering a summer discount on flights. So I've booked our flights for September to visit DS in Ibiza as usual and saved £25.40. Better than a slap round the face with a wet kipper :rotfl:

I also had a pay-out from the lovely 'views' peoples to PP of £14.10 :j

Hope everyone's okay and that you all have a great Thursday

    You're on a roll there, January:j. Well done:T.

I spend hours entering barcodes on these sites but they never want any of my books (apart from the ones I can sell for many times more on Amazon than these bulk-buy sites offer:eek:). I've done OK with CDs on MM in the past though but have no more left to sell:(

I keep meaning to ask you, carbootcrazy, do you find Amazon better for selling new books than eBay? I've never tried Amazon but books just don't seem to be shifting on eBay for me even when I'm the cheapest on there, mostly I'm settling for the £3 or £4 I can get for them on WBB (I get them for free.)

Thanks for the question, FatVonD:). sadly I can't give you a definitive answer:o.

I use Amazon in preference to eBay because I hate eBay:(. Seem to get so many stroppy customers on the latter, very, very rarely on Amazon:j:j

The advantage with Amazon, as I see it, is that once the books are listed they stay listed. I can just forget about them, although I occasionally check my inventory and refresh my prices. I often sell a book that I've had listed for many months and forgotten about. Panic stations to actually locate it for posting though:rotfl:.

The listing process on Amazon is so easy too:j

What Amazon isn't good for is anything out of the norm, such as bundling 2 or more books together etc. eBay is better for that.

Amazon's fees are quite high too, although you get a £2.80 postal credit. That's another thing with eBay, you can adjust your postage prices and even offer free postage if you want. With Amazon they allow you the same credit regardless of the size and weight of the book. Sometimes you can be quids in because the package will send as a Large Letter so you pocket the difference. On very heavy and big books you are definitely at a loss unless you pitch your selling price higher to compensate, but then you're having to compete with sellers who are selling it cheaper and are prepared to take a loss (such as the big, professional sellers:mad:). I very rarely sell such books online unless they are very rare and 'in demand'.

eBay often has good reduced listing/final fee offers too:j so that all comes into the mix as wll.

All in all, FatVonD, I don't think I've been a lot of help to you:o

    Good Luck:beer:

Kantankerus, I agree with you about the survey sites. Sometimes I answer so many questions that I think I've definitely been accepted to finish it, only to get screened-out after supplying them with so much free information:mad:. What makes me the most angry is when they ask for the very same preliminary info every single time, even when they already have it on their database from my profile. Totally unnecessary, it really gets me angry:o

I've stuck with YouGov too, mainly because I like the sort of surveys that they tend to do. I've closed my accounts with a lot of survey companies recently, as soon as I've plodded my way slowly to a payout and received my money. There are some others that I've been working towards minimum payout with for years, one needs a level of £25 and I can't seem to progress beyond £19:eek:
