...whereas to me, the idea of washable pads is foul!

guess it all depends on what you feel comfortable with
I know where your coming from. I do have to give them a boil wash with some strong washing powder. I originally bought them to save money from buying disposable ones and I have saved quite a bit even with the boil washing and the washing powder.

My 11 year old daughter is still using disposable ones but I'm hopefully going to get her onto the washable ones later too.

Don't think so. Apparently they have been around for about 80 years.
WOW!!! I did not know that!!! I've only heard about them very recently and have been a veggie/green person for 16 years! This one passed me by:o

Purplepatch - Not too much information, very valid information which helps me make an informed choice re the mooncup.

I've got a mooncup, but I'm not quite brave enough to try it yet!

    Hi all

I've been using the mooncup for a while now. I love it! I was sooooo enthusiastic I became an affiliate. Anyone wanting to by one through my link - it can be found on the referrals board (I think one kind lady did...lol!!)

One thing I wouldn't do though is cut the stem off before you've tried it. I read about everyone needing to cut the stem off and almost did before I tried it. I definately need ALL of the stem!

Good product all in all :D

I keep looking at the pic and chickening out. What do you do when your in a public loo and it needs emptying? Surely you dont stand at the sink to empty it?

Also how does cutting the stem off make it better? Surely you cant grab hold of it?

I'm using washable pads at the moment and I've found them to be lovely.

Where do you get the washable pads from. I like the mooncup during the day but do not want to wear it at night.

If squeemish, don't read on. I use collected blood (diluted) for natural fertiliser outside. When at home I might add!
I discovered it a bit late in life. I used to use washable towels made by a friend for me. Mooncup has been brillient.
