which supermarket sells the best quality tinned salmon?

i do like to stock up on tinned salmon, but struggling to find a nice tasting one. i tried the princes pacific red salmon, but it's not as tasty as i imagined it would be. john west is usually decent, but are there better quality tinned salmon out there, and where would you recommend?

Waitrose or M&S should be best quality

Check the codes on the tis. You will find the sources are all pretty much the same. Any differences are going to be marginal or imaginary.

Because their own-brand products are the best of the main supermarkets

..and where is the evidence for this when budget German supermarkets are frequently above them?

Interesting looking series starting on Channel 4 tonight "Tried & Tasted". Chefs and professional foodies doing blind taste tests on various different foods
  • I got some from M and S (own brand) a while back that was really good. Since then Ive bought some from Waitrose that was truly terrible. Own brand and John West. I don't know why theres such a variation in quality...
