Barclays Bank PPI on overdraft

Please help!

I have just found out that i have been paying £4.00 a month since 1998!
whilst i was on holiday in devon, Barclays bank Automatically placed an overdraft facility on my account without me knowing, also adding the PPI protection to it.

I never asked for this, nor signed any paperwork. in fact whilst on holiday i withdrew £100 and noticed 'DR' next to my balance, so i went into the branch and the cashier informed me that my account now has an overdraft facility, so i immediately put the money straight back into my account.

i don't have any paperwork, but i have informed my bank and they have logg this as a complaint. i just don't know how far i can claim back to or even how much over the years i have actually paid.

any advice, much appreciated!

  • I claimed all my overdraft ppi and now disputing the charges on my account for me going over my overdraft had I not paid for PPI I would still be within my limits. get the ppi claim form filled on or contact Barclays PPI to do it for you... £1600 payout for me but was wondering this is on their records 6 years But I've got statement going back before then.
  • Thanks for your reply, yes i contacted my bank direct (phone) and they are investigating it currently. should hear back soon, but i just wondered if there was a limit on how many years you can go back when claimng PPI?, (the account is still open as well)
