Stick with the spaceship - I'm a non swimmer so any other kind is a no-no. Life jackets aren't a good look and my personal flotation devices kind of get in the way. Come to think of it I can't understand why I can't swim.....................

Oh and Christmas Dinner.............

The frozen chicken breast I got (as a treat so I didn't have to mess around with a fresh one........we don't do turkey)............ was tough as old boots.

The bisto best gravy granuals I treated us to (instead of normal bisto/ store own brand) was vile ........ greasy and tasteless.

The christmas cake has gone untouched.

the vodka i was going to put in my coke has been drunk since I last checked and no one bothered to tell me.........ohh but DH was "going to get some smurnoff ice..........but forgot".

I did go off on one a bit and probably made myself sound like some kind of childless nutter which I'm not really, I accepted life's path a long time ago and think of myself as "child free" not "childless" but the poster really wound me up.

I think it's time for a G&T to chill out - may be back tomorrow once I have the decorations down.

Night everyone

Will come over on Friday. If you don't feel like lunch, don't worry. I will brave the shop and say Hi.

I am just practising my rainbow. You can ignore everything I write.

Put a pony in my pocket
Fetch the suitcase from the van
Cause if you what best
But you don't ask questions
Then Brother I'm your man

Cause where it all comes from is a mystery
Like the changing of the seasons
And the tide of the Sea
Cause he's the one that driving me berserk
That's why only fools and horses work

lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala lalalalal

Oh pretty

Hi all, sorry to hear that some of you haven't had the day you've worked so hard for. I feel guilty but I'm buzzing so much from today if I don't share with someone I'm going to burst. We've had such a great day, my Dad had emergency heart surgery two weeks ago and we didn't know if he'd be out of ITU let alone hone for Christmas but he's done amazingly well and is home DH and I drove to my parents this morning and arrived at 7:30 (it's 2 hours from home!) we did the normal presents and things but DH and I decided to buy my parents a new TV as theirs was getting old and a bit tempremental but we left it hidden in the car until after all the presents were done and DH emerged with a huge box, my folks were absolutely gobsmacked.
But the reason I feel so lucky is that we had the opportunity to enjoy being together, give presents, chat and read silly jokes from crackers it's the first time any of us have relaxed and enjoyed being each others company for weeks.
I wish I could visit everyone who is sad or disappointed today and share just a little of the way I feel today as you have all worked so hard and deserved a special day.
Sorry for the rambling message - just even more excited today than yesterday.

Thanks OMO, DH has just asked if I want to go shopping tomorrow so I think I'll get my wrapping paper and tags for next year - I'm absolutely determined to be organised.

Bladerunner what a lovely day and a truly lovely sentiment behind it

Linky how dare somebody upset you! I am off to search for offending "troll". Today of all days! I did have a little chuckle when I read your DS wondered what was missing when you've moved heaven and earth to keep things as"normal" as possible so as not to disturb him! Classic case of mums can't win syndrome I think.

I am really sorry that for one reason or another some of you haven't had the day you hoped and worked for I know some people feel an anticlimax on Christmas Day when they've spent so long planning it. There are 12 days of Christmas though and we've got 11 left I really do hope your Christmases improve you really do all deserve it

Chrissy aarrrghh what can I say. Blooming rotters xxx
Your post this morning brought a tear to my eye (in a good way)

Linky is that it now is this thread closed? Night night xxx

I didn't exactly have a wonderful day yesterday either. My DH was in a foul mood that was mostly reserved for me so his mum thinks he is the most wonderful son ever. She didn't hear all the snipy aggressive comments I was getting when she wasn't here or couldn't hear. He also upset our daughter when he announced he was going shopping today (boxing day) as he had agreed to take her to her boyfriends. He did finally back down as she has no other way of getting there and can't go earlier. No-one was allowed to open any presents until our son got up and as he went to bed at 9am you can imagine that by the time he got up at gone 5pm we were past bothering. Had DS been warned the night before he probably would have gone to bed earlier.

He also spoilt my adopt a reindeer surprise by throwing a childish strop about "how come you can adopt a reindeer but I can't have a dog? We can't afford a dog and all the costs involved but he is like a spoilt child over it.

One good thing is he isn't here this morning if he is going shopping!

My consolation is thanks to the lovely people on this thread I have enjoyed the run up to Christmas.

Hi everyone , Happy Boxing Day!

Thought I'd pop on quickly before the thread closes - when will that be OMO? Are we on here till the 31st? ( Have already joined the new thread, thanks again, but will stay here until given the orders to jump ship - sorry, the spaceship reference is catching! ).
Also OMO - how dare anyone be nasty to you! Some people just seem to enjoy upsetting others. Good thing you have us on here!

CHRISSYG - sorry your birthday didn't go to plan. Did you get Christmas presents, so at least had somethings to open?

Big hugs to all who feel a bit let down by it all. We work so hard and for so long, to make Christmas "perfect", that when others don't feel the same, it takes the shine off.

Now feel a bit guilty for saying, but we had a lovely day with my mum.( We already had our big "Christmas Day" on the 15th, with ds and ddil , as they could't be here on the 25th.). So yest it was just me, oh, dd and mum. Everything went to plan, no stress, laughed so much my sides ached, and wonderful presents all round! Everyone was delighted with their gifts, both mum and dd were amazed at the special things we found for them. OH is notoriously hard to buy for ( aren't all men ) , but I really surprised him with his main pressie - a gliding experience day! He can't wait to go.

However he did return the surprise, as my main pressie was a Sissix Big Shot! ( It's a crafting cutting machine, for any non crafters out there). He knew I'd been umming and ahhring over which one to get, so he decided for me. Can't wait to start playing with it today!

One of dd's surprises from us was theatre tickets ( just me and her, girly night), to see Romeo and Juliet. It's her favourite Shakespeare, and she loves going to the theatre - she was thrilled!

Sorry for the long post, can't stop once I've started! Going to have a pj day today ( anyone else do that? ) and just relax.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care all xxx

Why is everyone talking about taking there decorations down, really bugs me, because people put them up to early and want to get on with the next big thing, chill out everyone and stop rushing everything.

as I'm leaving the country for a few weeks I'd feel pretty silly returning in mid January to take them down. I didn't set out to offend anyone by saying I was taking them down. It's purely for practical reasons not wanting to get on with "the next big thing".

hey people! happy christmas! ours didnt' exactly go to plan.... not that we had one really lol. but dd3 came down with a sickness bug xmas eve... high temp etc. She managed to get up on xmas morning to open pressies then spent the rest of the day asleep. we made it to my parents house for an hour in the afternoon then came home and she started hallucinating :S doubled up on the calpol and ibrophen (sp) which seems to have sorted that.

Popped to town for the pressies i forgot to get :O for dd1. which she was happy with and spent a lil too much in the sales oops but 3 adults out of the 9 sorted for next year lol
