Sorry, I did not see link
Spec is not terrible, 2tb disk, 8gb ram and an LED monitor, CPU is not bad I have built on slower and been fine.
Not clear on how good display is, so you may want to see if you can find similar spec PC and compare price without display, then look at spec of display to see if it is good value for difference in price.

I thought that spec was reasonable for that price and that it would be a lot quicker than the current desktop the 70 year old has. I also thought it was suitable for word processing, surfing the web and storing photos.0 -

OP.....
CPU is terrible. Avoid. It's less powerful that the one in my budget laptop, which is nearly eight years old.
A seventy year old does not need 2TB of storage, so don't be fooled by the specification.
Leave that bundle on the shelf.0 -

Why is CPU terrible? What do I need to watch out for?
Do you have any suitable recommendations within budget?0 -
This is same one 4gb less ram and 1tb disk but only £50 less which makes yours look good value

That one had been £349 and then it was reduced and the one I provided the link for became available for the same price. I thought when it had twice the RAM and hard drive that it was a good buy.
Obviously I don't know though or I wouldn't be asking for help and getting it wrong.0 -
Example of £300 PC;
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zoostorm-i3-6100-Dual-Core-Desktop-PC-128GB-SSD-8GB-Win-10-DVD-RW-/262934178264?hash=item3d381929d8
CPU is RUBBISH. I don't understand why someone would suggest that is is acceptable at that price.0 -
24" monitor from £90.
CPU score from my eight year old laptop;
Cost me £240, eight years ago.
The CPU offered within that bundle is UTTER RUBBISH.
I don't know how I can make it more clear to you.0 -

The theoretical N3700 would hardly be acceptable at that price point either.
My eight year PC, costing £40....
Some strange advice being dispensed on the Tech forum of late.0 -
