Hi everyone, #33 reporting the Feb total...

I received my statement through today and as I'm going by statement figures rather than monthly (because it's much easier that way) I am finalising my Feb total which is £929.91 overpaid which is waaaay over my target so I'm very happy!! I did work really hard at not spending and being frugal so feel like it's a real achievement :)

I was worried about reaching my total for the year as I have so many big things that need paying for this year (holiday accom for Apr as flights already booked, guttering needs replacing, washing machine close to dying etc.) So managing a big number this month makes me think I can definitely do it again in other low spend months so I'm feeling much more confident now :)

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Well put a deposit down on a very grown-up car today, diesel so economical for OH to commute to work, second hand but from the dealership so it comes with 12 month warranty and RAC etc and they're replacing cam belt etc before we pick it up. Haggled price down £500 and got a few bits thrown in but still £6000- yikes! £5000 came from OP reserve but the rest and years insurance which will be another £900 (as OH has no no claims) will be out our current accounts. We've managed on one car since we bought this house six years ago but partly due to the hours OH is working and partly due to the baby on the way we really need a car each now.
So far this year we've spent over a thousand from our current accounts on putting in downstairs toilet, new banisters etc- most of the cost on labour and we will need approx another thousand for work yet- again will probably come out of current accounts so OPs are limited at the moment. Then will come my maternity leave....
However despite all of the above I'm reporting an OP of £115 for February. Taking our total so far for 2011 to £165. This includes: £50 for switching direct debits to our Halifax joint account- only needed to transfer 2 so could potentially have switched 2 to each of our accounts and gained more cash? but even i'm not that cheeky:rotfl:. £25 from reward accounts. Money drawn from closing accounts that I no longer use, about £15, some quidco cashback and £15 from selling on ebay- so all "free money" this month.;).
Sorry for the long post- quite excited about the car and the house being finished before the baby arrives. Good luck everyone!
2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.
    MFW OPd 2014 £2000 2013 £9700 2012 £2848.39 2011 £2509.58 2010 £11000 2009 £112002008 £4939 :D
