Very hard things to get, they have become over complicated affairs, need a good old fashioned one myself.
I do Contracts, all day every day.

B&M do a slicker brush for 99p or £1.99 (certainly cheap). It has a retractable base, so hair is easy to remove and is great for getting long hair off the hearthrug or cleaning another brush, too.

My 'better' slicker is a purple 'rubber' covered one from Tesco and that is easy to hold besides costing only about £4.99.

3 combs in my case, as I am always misplacing them.

Bit bigger, but my longcoated GSD has a thick coat and I find a Tangle Teaser (for people) better than the many dog brushes I've tried

Try Mikki Rake like this one:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mikki+rake

They do varieties for different sizes and different types of coat - absolutely brilliant

I have a 13 month old Shih Tzu & her under coat is very thick. She gets knotty desoite grooming regularly. After a lot of research I went for a Furminator. They are on the expensive side but check Amazon. It's brilliant, it takes the loose undercoat away and deals with knots in seconds. It's made grooming so much easier.
    SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
    SPC 9 (2016) #485 TOTAL £84
    SPC 10 (2017) # 485 TOTAL: £464.80
    SPC 11 (2018) #485
  • Thanks for the replies everyone. Gonna look on Amazon and she what I can get.

For my GSDs I use a combination of a rake like gettingready linked to and a retractable slicker brush. I don't need anything for tangles though mine are just for general grooming and for when they are moulting (new girl seems to be shedding enough to make another dog right now)

I do also have a furminator which has been okay but most of the teeth have broken off so no longer use it but it was good for the first few years.
  • Furminator for me - I have a dog that sheds constantly (Bassett X Japanese Spitz) and it's great at keeping the undercoat in control.
