who is of the opinion that Carl Frampton is an embarrassment to NI?
Upheld as a "role model" by an ex terrorist politician in a sport, the sole aim of which is to beat each other about the head as hard as possible with the potential to cause life changing injuries.
Time Ni turned their back on this one.

Don't care much but he's an adult and knows the risks so why shouldn't he fight for our amusement?0

Very odd comment BigAl94.........................................
Carl Frampton is a credit to NI and a world class sportsman.0 -
Even though I can't imagine why anyone would want to be a boxer, no matter what the potential financial rewards might be, I still support the guy's right to do it.0

I know where bigal is coming from. Yes, he may now be seen as a role model, but do you think he got into the sport through visiting his granny on a Saturday night? I'd hazard to guess that he used to be a violent little thug (used?) who scrapped with anyone and subsequently (concurrently) got into boxing. Ultimately, is he the sort of guy with whom you would be willing to have a strong disagreement without others present? I'm pretty sure he'll be the sort of role model who would thump you as a first instinct and that is not the sort of role model I would wish to support.Always overestimating...0

You just judged a guy you obviously know nothing about. You think everyone involved in boxing (they always start amateur) is a violent thug? Seriously? You think Liam Neeson used to get in scraps with everyone and thumped as a first instinct?
What guff.0 -
I know a little bit, thank you. Are you suggesting that Frampton compares with Liam Neeson? I'll be intrigued to see how that analogy holds up.Always overestimating...0

I'd go a bit deeper on this. I fail to understand how someone who wins a fist fight, kicks a ball between two sticks, hits a ball into a hole with a stick ( put your own names in) gets lauded and makes millions of £ while those who benefit the community (doctors, nurses, fire, ambulance etc.) have to fight for a basic wage and get little or no recognition for their efforts. Strange world!0
