Looking for some advice on the $20 trick.

Staying in Bally's for 10 nights end Feb/beg March. As it's 10 nights, should we offer more than $20 and if so how much?

    Thanks

Not sure how good of a deal this is - seems it might be decent, but I know there are some big fans of The Platinum who might be able to confirm.
Nice thing to me is you're booking direct with the hotel.

For $99 per night, kick back in a one-bedroom suite a block from the Las Vegas Strip, including weekends.
This 50%-off special from the 4-star Platinum Hotel and Spa, the No. 3 Vegas Hotel on TripAdvisor, is available Jan. 15 - April 8.
Each suite features a private balcony, whirlpool tub and full kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Lounge year round by the indoor/outdoor pool, indulge in a relaxing spa treatment or grab a signature martini at the hotel bar before a night on the town.
For $10 more, upgrade to a suite with views of The Strip.
    Not available on: Feb. 17-18

Book by Jan. 18. Top 20 deal – sells out quickly.

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I would hand over a coloured $50, and give them a wide choice of rooms to search for e.g. do you have any upgrades available to an X room or a Y room. 50 is a result for them......its about three pounds a night for you.....win win.

Cheeky beggers! That new contact offered me $119 a night for March and I took him up on it. He must have known this was coming out. Just emailed him to get them to match the TZ offer.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

First time poster on the Vegas thread.

    We are doing a road trip in October and will be either flying in to Vegas or travelling through but either way it will be a 2 or 3 night stay. We are going with friends and were considering suites to accomodate the four of us;

    questions:

    1. Is there a hotel booking site that I can use specifically for suites?
    2. if not, what type of "room types" should I be looking for on the 3rd party websites? which include two bedrooms but with living space etc...
    3. what are your opinions of suites vs two seperate rooms?
    4. is it a false economy looking for suites rather than seperate rooms?

    Thanks

    Geoff.

One of the things I dont see mentioned here as much.
If you sign up for a Total rewards card and a repeat visitor to Vegas, alway log in to http://www.totalrewards.com and then use the calender --> View All Las Vegas Casino's---> Month view from the dates you want.

You then get to see upto three months of discounted rates for your rooms. I dont gamble huge amounts and yet normally have 'COMP' room rates for most properties (Bally's Flamingo, Harrah's, IP) and cheaper rates at others, particuarly for Sunday-Thursday.

Example on my next trip I'm doing Bally's for two nights and a FAB deluxe at the Flamingo 5 nights for free!
  • Hi Guys, first time poster here! (been lurking for years!) :T

It's mine and my twin Brothers 30th Birthday this year and also myself and my partner's 10 year anniversary, so we all decided we'd celebrate with a trip to Vegas - where me and my Girlfriend also plan to get hitched! (well committment ceremony as it's actually not legal in Nevada for two girls to get married!)

None of us have been before, so we are trying to decide where to stay what to do etc! Hoped you guys could help:

    1. Is it best to book together (both couples), as me and my GF are only doing 4 nts in LV and my brother and his wife are doing 7 nts? - surely it would be best for my bro and missus to get return flights and me and my GF do a multi city flight plan as we are doing 4 nts LV and then 10 nts along West Coast?

    2. Is it best to wait to book accommodation for 1st week in Sept? Any tips on where to stay for a short vacation like ours?

The plan is that me and my girlfriend have 4 nights in Vegas, (my bro and his wife have a week there then fly home), then we head up to San Fransisco for a few days (thinking of flying up).

We would then hire a car and travel down the Coast. We have no clue of where exactly we should stop over at yet! But we wanted some kind of beach break to our trip, but again was unsure what temps would be in September? (was hoping you guys could help!) but thought we could then fly back home from Los Angeles.

We have scheduled 14 nights for this trip so would love your views on how best to spend them and where!

Our rough ideas are as follows:

    4 nts Las Vegas

    4nts San Fransisco

6 nts - Along west coast, including maybe 1nt in LA?

What do you guys think - I know it's a sketchy plan! but maybe someone has done a similar trip?

I look forward to your replies! Be gentle with me, I'm a first timer remember! :p

    Cheers,

    Kath :)
